At this price, I was expecting a horrible, barely functional pickup for me to use on my beater guitar.I was pleasantly proven wrong!The pickup is incredibly easy to install and even provides a nondestructive way to mount the wires and output jack.The sound quality is "not bad." Tonally, it is a bit weak on the low frequencies, and very neutral on the mids and treble. You wont be able to show off too much nuanced guitar playing as it may not translate 100% through the pickup, nor will it enhance the guitar tone in any way. However, because of how neutral it sounds and uncolored it is, it does allow the natural sound of the guitar to come through, which most acoustic guitar players prefer.The pickup is also not very sensitive. I have to bump the gain up quite a bit in order to get it at a decent volume. It is very clean, as opposed to hotter pickups that have some saturation and crunch to them. However this is expected out of a passive pickup that sits a bit farther from the strings, as opposed to an electric guitar where the pickups are typically adjusted to be much closer to the strings.I do appreciate the volume and tone wheels, although I found that I will probably never touch them again after setting them once.It's clear that the engineer that designed this paid attention to making this pickup in a way that leaves no marks, scratches, blemishes, or residue. I was very impressed.In conclusion, this pickup is amazing for its price. Definitely not studio recording quality but definitely good enough for live performances and gigs!I will update this review with a picture soon!

I had received this Pickup about a month ago and had been so busy I did not have the time to install it in my nylon string guitar.The box comes without any installation instructions, so I had to do some guess work. Initially I wanted to do and internal installation, but later decided to just leave it outside and apply the included items for outside installation.It was quite easy and straightforward and just took me about 10 - 15 minutes to figure out where to put the pick ups and cables in a neat and slight decent way. One of the things that I did not like were the plastic anchors. They were easily unhooked from placement once installed. I had to hook them up over and over again until I decided to leave them unhook (they would not clip on).I hooked it up to my sound console and the sound is very good. I had previously had other pick ups in this guitar but I MUST ADMIT THIS IS THE BEST I have had to date. Highs and lows are clear, although in my case there were more highs than lows. With some tweaking in my sound console the sound was what I was looking for.So in my opinion this is a very good pickup and for the price I cannot expect more, hence I am satisfied with the purchase.

Bought this pickup last month and installed it in my 1972 Epiphone and am thrilled with the results. It has transformed my old acoustic into so much more than it has ever been. I had seen reviews saying that the volume is low but I have been leaving it turned up and adjusting the volume at the amplifier. If I were to reduce the volume on the pickup it would probably be fine as well. Tone is outstanding and installation was smooth. I did run the wire through the body and have the jack on the end which doubles as a strap button.Bottom line is if you are on the fence I would not hesitate to give this one a go.

The media could not be loaded. In a world where you often hear "you get what you pay for", it's always a pleasant surprise to find products that just prove you wrong. I've had bad experiences with cheap Piezo Pickups. As such, I was looking at all types of pickup options (microphone and magnetic). However, I ended up looking back to piezo's because they afforded me the simplicity I would need i the setup when patching into a system, mitigating a lot of feedback, while retaining as much of the unique banjo tone & timbre. I figured that I may have to bite the bullet and try and expensive one. Unfortunately, life gets in the way sometimes and had to use most of my "pickup funds" that I saved for more important things. Still, I did need the pickup soon and came across this much more affordable option. The pickup wound up being amazing...but I did have to take up some time working out the placement of the three piezos to get the sound I wanted. I found that directly under the bridge placing one piezo under each foot was the best place to put it. Take a look at the video to see how it sounds! Since then, when piping into a system, I pair it with Donner's Alpha Acoustic multi-effect pedal running direct or through a fishman acoustic amp and it sounds full bodied (I like some roundedness to my banjo tone).NOTE ON ACCESSORIES: It is also important to note that the green piezo adhesive provided with the pickup is a must in securing a crisp sound while mitigating a lot of the instrument-knocking sounds that can occur if you move the instrument or tap/hit the body (especially with a banjo since it is essentially a drum, and that the cable holders they have are exceptionally helpful. For use with banjo, they provide both an adhesive plastic clip and a leather tail pail piece to hold the jack. Both work exceptionally well, but I found that the leather tail piece was much better to use since it kept the jack and wires away from the strap without straining the wiring of the pickup due to some akward anglings I had to do.

The tone is pretty good, but they're pretty quiet, so I do need to use a direct box/preamp situation. The problem is, the wires make so much noise. Just touching them makes noise. Moving around the stage, playing a little more forcefully, is basically not an option if you want to avoid noise from the wires themselves.
