Great for the price
First I would say don't *not* buy this because of bad reviews about the tripod. It's actually pretty impressive that you get a tripod and it extends in my opinion as best possible and as stable as possible for the cost. I had little problems with it (other than learning to not trip over it in the dark, my fault). As a starter telescope for say a 9-10 year old or for me who daunted by the array of possibilities (and the huge array of costs) it's perfect. Perfect to learn on without worry. Easy setup and takedown, very portable (purposefully, it comes with a backpack). Extremely lightweight. First night I was seeing Jupiter's moons. I had to prove it to myself, I couldn't believe those were moons, but yes, they were. Quite easily spotted 4 of them. Saw distinct craters on our moon in a crescent state even without the moon filter. The finder scope is useless, it's too close to the main tube, even my daughter can't get her head close enough to it without bumping the tube. The magnification isn't all that amazing and the Barlow lens "tube" thing can't be used with the right angle viewing adapter which makes it a bit hard to get the full Monty on the scope. I was hoping for a bit more magnification, but haven't really tried it in a truly dark setting yet. Can see red distinctly in stars like Betelgeuce. The five star rating is deserved just on price alone though. Note, I don't know that they make this one any more, but there are similar ones so you can't go wrong. Also this telescope is great for terrestrial viewing, I was spotting the hole on the green behind our house hundreds of yards away. A lot harder on things that move of course! Keep looking up!

Great telescope, tripod, meh.
A wonderful small telescope. I bought this for my 12 year old grandson, and he's having a great time. It includes a very nice soft case, two eye pieces, a Barlow lens, and a tripod. The tripod is why I only gave this a four star rating. It's a nice tripod, but when the legs are fully extended its quite wobbly. I bought him a new more robust tripod. Now he's finding and keeping objects in the eyepiece.

DON'T BOTHER
It's impossible to get it to focus on anything and the parts are all cheap plastic.

Great views of the Super Blue Blood Moon
First time using this telescope was to view the Super Blue Blood Moon on January 31, 2018 in North Dakota. Set it up and found the moon with no problem. Used both the 8mm and the 20mm lens to watch the event. Looking forward to using this more this summer when the nights are warmer. Photos here are taken with an iPhone held up to the eye piece. First one is with 8mm lens and the second one with the 20mm lens.

Awesome Little Travel Scope
Got this at Hobby Lobby for $60. It’s just as good as our Celestron 60 AZ, but it’s much smaller and comes with an awesome backpack to take camping or hiking and whatnot. Works great both day and night. One of my favorite purchases in a long time!

Celestron TravelScope 60
I got this at a really good deal, only $35! I have always wanted a telescope so, this seemed like a great buy, and I liked the idea of it being very portable. However I am assuming I am not using it properly. All I can see through it is a blur or darkness. I have used the finder scope to see the moon but can see nothing through the main lens. I now regret the purchase, and an trying to find someone to give me personal instruction. I had no idea it would be so difficult to use.I still think it is a great item but, I need to learn how to use it. My recommendation is, only purchase this if you know how to use it, or can instruct the person you're giving it to.

You get what you pay for, I suppose, ...
You get what you pay for, I suppose, but this is all plastic and feels really cheap. The tripod is too flimsy to hold the telescope in position, and the set screws for the finderscope don't hold tight so you can't use it to target the telescope.
