Kohler 25-707-03-S Lawn & Garden Equipment Engine Spark Module Assembly (replaces 24-584-52-S, 24-584-64-S, Genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) part

I purchased this kit for my older 26 hp Craftsman lawn tractor. It never had the conversion, after 800hrs, or so it appears as the spark modulator was still in place. I removed all the old parts as instructed, cleaned and installed the kit. Was not that difficult for a gear head. Best part is it works perfectly! All said the tractor runs better, starts a tad harder, not sure why yet but I'll get to that later on, might need re-jetting, runs rich I beleive. Overall I'm satisfied with it.

This was purchased to replace an old failed coil. The new design fit perfectly on my Kohler 27 hp with horizontal shaft. It is not hard to replace or setup these coils, but it is time consuming. I did have to remove the engine from the ZTR to remove the flywheel cover and flywheel. It's not hard, but it does take a few hours. The instructions are pretty straight forward. There is also an easy wiring harness modification; whereas, you have to remove unneeded wires from the removal of the old units.

Simple to install although a little tricky to get to on Exmark series. Starts up super quick now and has a smooth idle. Originally had a small backfire at idle but now that’s gone

if you have a kohler that still has the electronic spark advance module (SAM) you will likely be installing this kit or one similar eventually. installation is straight forward, basically the same as replacing an ignition module in most modern small engines. requires some minor wiring harness modifications, which the instructions cover, and the modules must be correctly gaped to the flywheel magnets.

Right fit

Disappointed that i had to buy a kit from kohler to fix thier crappy engineering, but it seems to have fix the random misfiring problem. Instructions were easy to understand, but i also watched a utube on it before i ordered. Installed on pro30.

It's been 3 years now since I bought this kit and put on my Husqvarna rz 5426 with Kohler engine. It was down on power, only when blades engaged, would barely cut grass, tried everything. Bought this kit, it ran like new, still running great. Wasn't to bad to install, watched a video on Youtube by Taryl Fixes All, it helped out a lot. Sure eliminated a bunch of wires, and simplified it. Great kit.

If you have a Kohler with coil issues (… seems to be a common problem…) Then this is the kit you need. This coil kit updates the factory 3-contact coils. Easy installation and works perfectly. My mower runs like new again. The only issue is that the instruction manual does not cover what to do with the red wire. All you need to do is splice the red wire from the original harness To the red wire which goes to the carburetor solenoid.
