First of all, I don't know if an unfinished batch of these went out, but all the complaints of "unsanded" finishes were not true on the muddler I received. Milled very nicely and all the edges were very smooth. No issues with this item as all as far as I'm concerned. Matches my Acacia wood cutting board very nicely. I occasionally treat both to a light rubbing of peanut oil to keep them stain-free and clean.What I do find funny is that all the advertisement photos of this item show the muddler being used upside-down, with the handle in the drink! This is absolutely silly! The wider end with the rings around it is obviously the handle end. The narrower end with the flared tip is the muddling/stirring end.Please see the photo I attached for the proper way to use this muddler.I find it hilarious that whoever took these photos couldn't figure out the right way to use this.

My wife bought this as a gift for me. I can't stand plastic and metal is not aesthetically appealing to me. This is a perfect muddler! Fantastic looking, flat face, not milled, so it's super easy to clean. It's not lacquered so you know nothing bad is going into your drinks unless you're the one to blame. The title says acacia wood, but the description says it's beechwood. It's acacia as far as I can tell. Mine has a lovely verrugated blend of wood grain colors.The only "treatment" I give to culinary wood items beyond washing them is the occasional light rubbing with mineral oil. This has been oiled. Yes, it came in that cool little bag. Totally unnecessary, but I thought it was pretty sweet.Ergonomics are great, too! I use both a grip on the end or along the axis depending on what I'm doing. Feels comfy both ways. Given that this is one of the most inexpensive muddlers on Amazon, I'm shocked people buy anything else! If you want a clean and attractive muddler to add to your swanky bar set, this is for you!

Worked like it should!

Needed a good once-over with fine grit sandpaper and an oiling before use, but it's a really great muddler for the price. Wood is solid, no cracks.

It wasn’t polished or finished. Looked and felt like it just come off the lathe. Overall a great product if covered in food grade mineral oil.

I did an online cocktail class, and one of the things the teacher said was to avoid the muddlers with the pointed ends, as they will bruise the herbs. . My son brought his over for that class, and it was one that had those points. I had been thinking about buying one so after that class I looked and found this. We tried the same cocktail using this one, and I can see why this is preferable. May not matter for fruit, but if you use mint/basil for cocktails, this is better. It's also really pretty, and it comes with a bag that protects it. Very happy with this.

I read allot of reviews and this simple muddler was what all the bar tenders requimended. I absolutely love it, I thought the ones with the 'teeth' on it would be better, but NOT the case. This simple one is the way to go

A very beautifully made muddler! The wood is good quality, and it has an easy to grip shape. The simple decorative carving is quite pretty too. It easily fits into a shaker or tall Collins glass with room too spare. It arrived on time, and comes in a neat rustic cloth bag with a nice image of the muddler on it. This is the kind of muddler you can leave on your home bar without people thinking you’re cheap or that you’re muddling their cocktails with a “marital aid.”

It made our life much easier using this to make a mojito instead of a wooden spoon!! It's sturdy, and cleaned up easy too.

i bought this muddler as a gift for a friend who likes to mix G and T's. This muddler is beautifully made and came in a cloth pouch that can store the muddler away when not used, or to carry around when going elsewhere to mix drinks.

a must have for all bars. I use it for cocktails and even mixing up a lemon and fresh ginger for tea.easy to use and very rustic cool look to it.
