excellent as usual
great to be able to have an e-reader version, and that the version has been updated to 2012. I used the kindle version on my android samsung galaxy Note 2 and it works very well.makes it very easy to travel with as the hard copy is always so heavy!

Good guidebook
I just came back from the trip to Morocco. The guidebook covers all basics and recommendations for restaurants are great - had to use them a few times. As for lodging - places that are listed now have higher prices, so plan to research more to get better deal.

Solid guide book
I bought this book for my trip to Marrakech and Essaouira, so my comments will focus on those 2 cities.Generally, I really liked the flow of the book and the contents. I compared it to several other Morocco guidebooks at Barnes and Noble before buying this one on Amazon. The lonely planet guide had some bits of history in the sections for the cities, just enough to provide context for many of the sites that we went to see. I didn't feel like I was being dragged down by the historical aspects of the book when trying to find things to do. There was a very nice sections at the end of the book about the different food specialties you could see around the country. There were several other sections at the back of the book with broad areas of focus that were very useful. Plenty of tips of mailing things home, transportation, tipping, etc.The Marrakech section of the book was quite good. I stuck with 1 dollar sign restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed each of the restaurant recommendations from the book. I saw most of the recommended sights and they were all very impressive. The pullout map was very useful as well. Once you find out where you are you can navigate fairly well. I had some difficulties navigating, but that is no fault of the map. Rather, it is because the medina in Marrakech is very confusing and there are few street labels. One issue I found in Marrakech was that some of the restaurant recommendations did not seem to be where they were indicated (specifically Marrakech Korner), possibly closed. This was despite the fact that I had the most recent edition of the book. The recommendations for Essaouira were good as well. A local woman, with whom we were staying, recommended a number of activities and restaurants for us. All of her recommendations were actually in the Lonely Planet book already and they were all excellent. Again, there was a shop that we were excited about visiting, which no longer existed, but there were no other issues.Overall, I thought this book was excellent for my trip to Morocco and I would recommend it to anyone traveling there.

Perfect
I am so glad that the new editions include information about local language programs. It is a feature I've been wishing LP include for a while now. This book is fantastic and includes all the major cities. The one-stop resource for my upcoming trip.

Lonely Planet needs to reformat their books for digital use
I've used LP guidebooks exclusively for the past 15 years but sadly their failure to translate to a new medium means I have to find another publisher. This is the second time I've made the mistake of buying one of these guidebooks for Kindle on iPad (the first was the Ireland book) and in both cases I ended up doing all my research online and not using the books. This is a classic example of a content provider failing to recognize that you can't just cram old platform media into new formats. Information is not laid out in a way that one can locate what you need... example, the Morocco book isn't broken up by geography in the TOC and to find a town you have to flip through all the pages. Try searching and of course a dozen results come up. Pages are not well formatted for digital reads, navigation is practically non-existant. But the worst and most hilarious failure of translation is the maps. It looks like someone cut up some xeroxed maps into little pieces and pasted them in your iPad. Where one street gets cut off you have to clip through pages to see where it lands, and to zoom in it's like looking at an enhancement on a photocopier. It's far more practical to look up info online than to use this book. BTW the content is fine but if you can't find it, read it, or use it then that doesn't actually matter.

Not very detailed
I purchased the ebook version of this lonely planet book for my kindle. I have used lonely planet guides in the past and loved them, however, I found this one really lacking. It didn't have any hostel suggestions, the walking tours where hard to follow and the descriptions of the sites did not include much history. It does have a lot of suggestions for people with kids (which wasn't what I was looking for but maybe you are). This guide is helpful for the basics but could be a lot better.

Super

Lonely Planet guide to Morocco.
I found the lonely planet guide of Morocco very helpful when recently travelling in Morocco. It is very informative and full of useful and relevant advice. The guide included a summary of the main cities and tourist sites referencing history, current topics and explanations of topics such as food and travel, jabs and much more. A great start to planning your trip to Morocco.
