This thing is awesome
We got a Harmony 700 remote, a Next Generation Remote Control Extender, and the 6-eye extender. Our remote control experience is now perfect and utterly awesome. Easily with a click of just one button, we can turn on everything we need and it all comes on, configured right for what we want to do. Or turn it all off with one press. And it doesn't matter where we are in the house. This has made a huge difference for us because the projector is above and behind our heads, and the rest of the media equipment is to the left and also behind. It was previously impossible, even with the Harmony remote, to control everything in one pass. Because of the different locations we'd have to aim at the media center, wait until everything was off, then press another button and aim at the project and wait until it was off. Now we don't have to aim at all. We can do the instinctive "point at the screen" and it all works, thanks to the RF of the Next Generation, and the IR extender cables of the particular product I'm reviewing here, the Next Generation 6-Eye IR Extender. The cables for the Eye Extender are long. This was important to us because it means they reach the projector *and* the rest of the equipment. And I like that they come stuck together but can easily be separated. I only separated what I needed to, and this makes it a little easier to keep cables neat. The little IR eyes are small and discreet. I'm very pleased with this product!

Needs tape to hold it EXACTLY in place, still failed on one IR device
I obviously have a Next Generation IR Remote Control unit for which I purchased this product. That unit has performed fine for all my devices with line of signal directly from the main unit. But using these IR Emitters, I found it inconsistent. It did not work at all for one of my four devices. Where it did work, it needed to be secured precisely, to maintain it within a very narrow range of position relative to the IR detector. Typically, movement of even one millimeter would cause the Emitter's signal not to be detected. Therefore it did not work to allow me to remove the native IR receivers of all my controlled devices from direct line of signal, for example, closing them and the main unit within a cabinet. I suppose given a different set of devices, it could have worked with careful taping in place -- your results may vary. The tape I ended up using to try to position the Emitters would have been needed anyway, as the adhesive provided around each Emitter proved insufficient on its own to hold in my air-conditioned home environment for more than a week. This was despite careful preparation and application at the IR receiver sites.I think the design needs to be improved at least as far as allowing it to attach more securely, and effectively strengthening the signal somehow in order for this to work consistently with receivers for all devices.

Great! ... the 2nd time
Very happy with the functionality of the device. Only reason it did not receive 5 stars is because the first one I ordered did not work at all. After using an IR I knew worked to troubleshoot that it wasn't the output or 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter I went through the return process for the 1st unit I received (thank you amazon for making it so easy) and ordered a new one. Since there were so many good reviews on the device I decided to give it a second chance and I'm very glad I did.

Works great
This solved my dilemma of having multiple electronic devices that are behind wooden cabinet doors that infrared cannot penetrate. I mounted the receiving eye so that it was inconspicuous, then ran each line to each unit's eye and attached them with two-sided tape, making sure the cord did not interfere with the unit itself. I purchased one remote control unit, programmed it for all the devices, and use it with this extender. Every device easily responds to the commands. It is very reasonably priced although the cords are somewhat flimsy any may possibly break over time. So far, they have worked perfectly for quite some time.

Works as advertised
This was just what I need for my TuneLink Home base station that I use to control my home theater boxes via bluetooth from my iPhone. I was able to peel off individual IR emitters and route them to each of the A/V boxes and to the TV for centralized, RF-based remote control. My only complaints are that 1) the plastic around the head end would work better if it had a slimmer profile (perhaps circular instead of hexagonal plastic cover) and 2) the stickers on the IR emmiter heads were really bad and I had to get my own stickers/tape to keep them in place.

Best Product - Exceeded my expectation
I am having a full home theatre seup including Optoma HD66 projetor.I wanted to cover all my home theatre equipments inside a wooden cabinet. But after closing the doors my home theatre receiver and satellite receiver did not work with my IR remote. Then after searching in Amazon.com I came to know about "Next Generation Remote Control Extender". Today I received this product. Directly from the box, I could able to setup without any instruction and now all my remotes works when the doors are closed. Even it works from another room. I am extremely happy about this product and sellers service.

Does the job at adding the extra IR beams where needed.
Helps add IR beams to all the components since the unit itself is not very good at transmitting the IR signal by itself. I ended not returning this and the main unit since it would not work correctly on my TiVo and also my URC universal remote very well.
