## Description

Product description CrystalClear Thrive 10-14-8 Aquatic Plant Fertilizer Safe for Fish & Aquatic Life When used as directed, pond plant tablets are safe for fish, koi, goldfish, frogs, snails, and other aquatic life. Simply press fertilizer tablet into aquatic media every 2-4 weeks when water temps are above 75°F. Create Maximum Blooms & Beauty Get your pond blooming! CrystalClear Thrive tablets will feed potted aquatic plants all season long, helping to maintain vigorous growth and beautiful flowers. Contains a blend of essential nutrients (10% nitrogen, 14% phosphate, and 8% potash) to help pond plants thrive. Water gardening just got easier. Contains Essential Nutrients Easy & Safe Application Simple Dose Tablets Adding aquatic plants is a great way to customize your aquascape and balance your pond ecosystem. In addition, pond plants have many benefits. Provide Shade & Protection Just like people, fish can suffer from painful sunburns. Since they don't make sunscreen for fish, use floating pond plants with ample foliage, like water lilies, to give your finned friends the relief they need on sunny summer days. Another critical benefit of plants is protection from predators like herons and raccoons. Aquatic plants provide hiding spaces so your fish can outsmart hungry pests. Improve Water Quality Aquatic plants are like nature’s water filter. Just like terrestrial plants help clean the air, pond plants help clarify water, along with removing excess nutrients while releasing oxygen during photosynthesis. If your water garden has cloudiness or poor water quality issues, add more plants to help clean it up. Aim to cover around half of your pond's surface area with plants, especially if it gets direct sunlight for most of the day. Create Habitats Plants create ideal habitats for your aquatic life above and below the waterline by offering food and shelter. Fish and snails hang out around the leaves and stems, while frogs hunt for bugs and hide in the shade. The leaves, stems, and root systems give your pond creatures safe places to spawn and lay eggs. When those tiny fry hatch, plants provide protection, food, and a cozy place to call home. How to Use Simply use one to two tablets for every gallon of soil and every water lily. For water lotus, use 4 tablets during the growing season. It is always a good idea to feed plants every two to four weeks when the water temperatures are above 75°F. Push tablet one finger deep into the soil, 3" from the crown of the plant. Press soil around the inserted tablet for best results. Types of Aquatic Plants A good mix of aquatic plants does more than beautify your water garden. The marginal, floating, and submerged plants absorb excess nutrients in the water and shade the pond's surface, which helps improve water quality while protecting your fish from hungry predators. Here are the various types of aquatic plants you should consider Floating Plants: Water hyacinth, water lettuce, giant sensitive plant, and other floating plants are excellent options for filtering the nutrients that cause poor water quality issues. They also provide shade and cover for fish and other aquatic organisms. Submerged Plants: Popular submerged aquatic plants include hornwort and eelgrass. These fantastic filters and oxygenators absorb excess nutrients from the water, so fertilizing them is unnecessary. Bog Plants: Bog plants are sown around the perimeter of your pond or in shallow, marshy areas. There is a lot of color, size, and shape variety, so they will surely attract the attention of people and wildlife alike. Bog plants like water forget-me-not and creeping Jenny are invasive perennials, so you may see them return and spread each year, depending on your zone. Water Lilies: Available in cold-tolerant and tropical varieties, lilies are definite crowd-pleasers. Hardy water lilies are perennials that blossom all summer on the pond's surface. Tropical lilies have very fragrant blossoms and produce several flowers at once. Some bloom in the daytime, while others are night-blooming lily flowers. Water Lotus: These plants are larger than life, standing two to five feet above the water, depending on the variety. Water lotus have large blooms and leaves to help keep your pond protected from the sun. These may take up to two years to become fully established in your water garden. Review: Gave our Lotus a True Boost! - I had never grown a Lotus before, though we have certainly enjoyed using the root in our Asian cooking. However, in our last batch of tubers we bought, there was a joined pair that had a small shoot between them and for kicks I thought I would try growing one. Using a shallow 5" deep plastic pan that holds about a gallon of soil, I planted the tubers in a bit of soil to barely cover them, and kept it wet. When the sprout surfaced the soil I thought I just might have success and bought a small 20 gallon pond tub, and using bricks placed under the shallow pan, filled the tub full with water so that the soil surface of the small pan was about 4" below the surface of the water. When the sprout came up and leafed out I was delighted, but noticed that it wasn't as green as it should be (the plant definitely needed more nitrogen), so after reviewing Lotus fertilizers settled on the CrystalClear Thrive Aquatic Plant Fertilizer (10-14-8) based on customer reviews, and I'm so glad I did! Within a couple weeks of using the first tablet we had more shoots coming up from the pair of tubers and they leafed out into nice big and VERY green and beautiful healthy leaves, both floating on the surface or rising above it. Today I will be placing the second tablet into the soil, and although we have absolutely no idea what color of flower this plant may produce (since it was Lotus root tubers purchased at an Asian market, all I know is they were a product of Mexico), we're definitely excited to find out as the plant now has 11 large leaves, and it's only been about 5 weeks since we placed our first tab in the tub of soil. I'm definitely sold on the CrystalClear Thrive Aquatic Plant Fertilizer. I'm not new to gardening by a long stretch, but I *am* new to growing pond plants, having only admired them growing in botanical gardens or pond nurseries over the years (which is why seeing that nice pair a tubers with a tiny sprout starting between them piqued my interest). The product took a plant that was growing in an environment weak in nutrients, gave it what it was needing and turned it into a healthy plant with luscious green leaves that are strong and healthy. Now to just sit back and wait for a flower (or more) to bloom and surprise us with its beauty!
Review: This works great - I had bought some really expensive water plants four our small outdoor pond. I was worried because they did not seem to be thriving and maybe my media was not going to work for the roots. But I added several pellets to the roots of the plants and within days the water was as clear as a freshly cleaned swimming pool and the plants had doubled. A few days later they plants have quadrupled in size of the plant or new plants grown and the tadpoles from all the eggs our little chorus of frogs laid will have a chance this year. Last year, without the plants, they were like sitting ducks for a passing bullfrog. This product worked extremely well which is something you cannot always say about aquarium and pond products. My only criticism is that there appeared to be a number of pellets that had broken and crushed to powder. I think you can just add the powder but using the pellet is easier to get into the root system of the plants which is where you want it to go. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and will purchase again.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Save my water hyacinth life
*by M***7 on January 3, 2026*

This saved my water Hyacinths!! I have beautiful water hyacinths in my fountain and because of the season they don’t get as much late and I noticed they started to get really dark and malnourished. It never dawned me to get this type of product, but when I read about it, I knew I had to. It didn’t happen immediately, but in about a month, the plants turned around some of them got reborn and the ones that were on the fence whether they were gonna live or die survived. I didn’t have any loss. It really worked well and it was a great recovery. I’m so glad I saved them.
