This is good if you are going to use it in addition to some other sort of locking system, like a security bar or a dead bolt lock. It's not made of steel. You can kick the door in and it will break. Other than that way to install and light material.

Just what I needed!I am converting an old bus into a tiny home on wheels and was in need of a way to lock the rear door from the inside and the outside. There are many options for locking from one side or the other, but this is the only product I found that allows access on either side of the door. It was SUPER easy to install (though admittedly it was a little stressful cutting a hole in my bus) and it came with all of the necessary hardware. The instructions eve. Had a template you could use to mark where to cut and drill, which certainly came in handy.The only tools you need are a hole saw of the appropriate size (listed in the instructions) and a drill.Now my bus is secure and I have some peace of mind knowing that nobody can open the door when I dont want them to.

Well worth the money. Needed to replace a lock on a old home ( didn't have a key) works the same as the old one. Fit is the same. Only difference is the old was good the new is silver. Much better price than local hardware store.

The locking mechanism itself is quite sturdy. But that is the limit of its good features. The first problem I noticed was that the screws that came with the lock were very small. When I attempted to use the screws ALL of them broke. I had to get bigger and stronger screws. Then about a year after installation, the latch broke. Just snapped off. Overall, would not recommend.

The plate came scratched. I didn’t open it til the handyman was already here so I’m stuck with it now. Really disappointing.

At first I thought being cheaper, the quality might be an issue. But this was not the case. I had a locksmith install it and it looks great and works really well. Great item.
