so glad I found this item. I had another type of product and it was a mesh screen and would bend where your fingers were when emptying it and constantly clogged. There are none of those issues with this item. It blends into the sink so you dont even realize its there, and nothing has been able to clog it up yet. even when I have so much stuff the "screen" is overflowing, the water still flows freely through it I wish I had seen this when I purchased my former item. These are great. We now live in a place with a septic system, and this keeps a lot of food particles out of it. Easy to clean and they look good. We rarely need to use our disposal.

Standard strainers seem to allow too much material into the drain, thru too-large holes or gaps on the side. This one is better when you have a septic. In the first use today, a typical one, it collected 4X the material as normal. There are no side gaps anymore and it sits pretty flush. And yeah, the holes are small, but I'd rather clean it than pay someone to clean the septic. We'll see how log it lasts.
