Not far off from beefy custom desktops
Great laptop. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to PC gaming since I've been able to make a powerful custom PC over the last few years. I'm deploying and picked this bad boy up. I thought I was going to be getting a much lower quality of gaming than my desktop, but I have been pleasantly surprised. It is still a small step down, but nowhere near what I had feared. It really does look great and performs well at max settings/high fps.My biggest recommendation is to undervolt the CPU and slightly overclock the GPU. I saw almost a 10% increase in average fps and MUCH cooler temps. The battery life is terrible, but if you unistall the Alienware OC software and its counterparts, the battery lasts 2-3 times as long. There are several YouTube videos in that subject if you look! Hopefully Alienware can release a fix for the issue, but I'm not holding my breath.Overall, great gaming laptop. High fps, and with the undervolt, much more stable frames with much less heat/fan noise!

Critical error
The media could not be loaded. As you can see from the video the critical error appears and then it's going in circles. From the beginning. It happened just after 2 days I opened it.

OUCH it Hurts!
Edit:After using this machine for a while (only used for photo editing) I have noticed that it stalls and hangs much quicker than my older laptop running windows 7. Pretty sad. My windows 7 laptop is a freaking 150$ laptop I got from Walmart.Oh The shame. This computer works as I expected it to. Shipping was fast and actually came a day before I expected. The speed is good the graphics is really good. The only issue I have is the design. It has sharp corners. Very sharp corners. I brushed against it and it drew blood kind of sharp corners.I also thought this to be a touch screen but it is not.

RAM ISN'T UPGRADEABLE, WTF ALIENWARE??
Laptop worked as described till my D key stopped working, had to pay shipping to Dell for repair ($65 from Hawaii). Then they wanted to charge me $190 for repair of the D key, saying that they don't cover accidental damage on basic warranty. I told them that this wasn't an accident, I didn't spill coffee on my keyboard or slammed my keyboard or dropped my laptop. I told them that a keyboard should work fine for at least a year before wear and tear, finally after getting the right service representative from India I got it fix under warranty. Then I found out later that I cannot upgrade RAM, WTF Alienware a Gaming Laptop that cannot upgrade memory??? So far other then the above issues, my laptop can handle the limited stuff I do like play WOT. So would I buy this laptop again after all the experience I had, Not no but Hell NO.

Heat burns it out.
Cooling doesn't work adequately. CPU over 100° C. Computer runs slower as time goes on. Cooling pad doesn't really help. Not good for gaming.
