KNIPEXTools - Alligator Water Pump Pliers, Multi-Component (8802250), 10 inches

This review is for the 10"alligator pliers.As a full time handyman, I put these pliers to work quickly doing plumbing to see how they would do. Unfortunately, I came to the conclusion that I do not like them for one particular reason and that is because they slip when I try to open and close them. Apparently the teeth or grooves if you will, are so small that anytime I try to open and close with one hand to tighten something, the slip into the next groove or even sometimes four or five groves. It is extremely annoying when I am under a sink or in a tight spot. The tool is definitely quality and it will certainly work well if you are needing to bite on something but if you're need to do a open and close ratcheting, you are likely to have the same problem. It is because of this that I have completely removed these pliers from my tool bucket. I recommend spending a little more money and going with the cobras instead. I have 20+ years in residential remodeling and servicing. I have wiha. Channel lock, knipex, Douglas and many more brands of pump pliers to compare these with. I put this information out to warm you guys out there who work hard for your money and are looking to upgrade. For one hand use I recommend the wiha auto grip pliers. They are awesome.

I ordered a plier to use for electrician and man they’re my best friend. I use them everyday! They hold on great to anything. I recommend.

Feels a bit bulky in your hand but very nice set of gripping pliers. They take up more room in your pouch, but cannot beat their bite on whatever you want to turn. Definitely better than channel lock.The only issue I have found is that it takes a bit to move them in between sizes/grooves to set another size. But that helps in certain situations. I’ve had pliers that slip out of groove in the middle of use. These won’t do that. And k like that feature. Accuracy over speed any day for me

These pliers are quickly taking the place of other pliers and wrenches in my tool bag. I have used them more and more since I got them. These pliers have held up to everything I have thrown at them. When you pick them up you can feel the quality. You can get get less expensive pliers and still get your jobs done but if you have a little extra in your budget you will be very happy with these.. I can only speak for myself but I wish I would have got these earlier.

Precision adjustable pliers that is…. These Knipex would definitely be them! Very precise and zero slop! They almost need breaking in because the fit is so crisp. Haven’t been disappointed in any of my Knipex tools yet! Amazing value for German made adjustable pliers, highly recommend a set for anyone looking for this style.

Love these things. As a plumber, these are so much better than the common blue brand. They bite on well to any shape; hex, round, square, flat, etc. The tooth design also grips and bites in, so you can put your strength into turning the item, rather than needing to squeeze so the jaws don't slip. These jaws don't slip, even on a round workpiece.Knipex also makes the cobra pliers that are basically the same, but I prefer these because they are quicker to adjust.

First time i used these, i was trying to break apart a steel threaded fitting. The tip of the pliers completely broke off and now they are useless.
