Joe on the go
Got this because it was cheap and wanted something better than instant coffee but not bulky. This is great, makes a good cup and I can put a dose in it, secure the lid with a rubber band and throw it my pack for a pick me up later. After first use I ordered one for my buddy.

Simple and works well
This is a great lightweight way to have coffee when camping, hiking, etc. Fits in many mugs, makes decent coffee in a pretty short time. Easy to clean, if you just shake it out the last bit of grounds will dry by the next day and brush out with a finger. It's not indestructible, but sturdy enough if you take reasonable care when packing it in your bag. I usually put it in my mug so it can't be crushed.

Delight!
Love this little portable coffee filter! Bought this for camping and travel. Works great. I’m used to French press coffee at home and found this to be a delightful substitute when traveling. Easy to pack and clean. So easy to use. The little side arms could be a bit longer. Glad I purchased this!

Excellent for brewing tea even when you're not camping
I've tested many loose tea brewers and this is the best (I've never used it to brew coffee so look to other reviews for an evaluation of how well it does that). The problem with most loose tea brewers is that the mesh is too coarse, letting through flecks of tea. This brewer has a very fine mesh. I'm not a camper, but I was in REI to buy some shoes and I spotted this and decided to give it a try since I'd never found a really satisfactory tea brewer. I was delighted. That was a couple years ago -- I've been using mine a couple times every day ever since -- So I feel MSR is missing the mark here -- they should be marketing this in kitchenware stores, not just in camping stores. I bought my second one from Amazon so I can have one for me and one for a guest. (I don't like to brew tea by using the same tea leaves for two cups -- the second cup is never as good as the first -- each tea drinker deserves a cup of tea made from fresh leaves, not leaves that have been used to brew another cup before theirs. By having two of these, I can brew two excellent cups of tea at once.)For loose tea, I recommend alltea (for excellent tea with good value -- try their English Breakfast tea -- very hearty) or Upton tea (for an amazing variety of high-end teas). Have you ever tried Rooibos tea? -- give it a try!

Makes a tasty cup of coffee!
The Good:The sturdiness of the materials give me confidence I'll have this for a long time. This made the best single-serve camp coffee I've had yet (I camp several times per year). It's so simple. Pour your hot water through, pull it out, rinse it out. Done. I found the coffee tasted better if I didn't let it sit in the cup too long. Tasted best when I pulled it out, right I finished pouring. The Not So Good:Have no clue there's a lid. Don't bother taking it with you. I read some say "to keep in the heat." Really? It's boiling water! You have to let the cup sit a while after brewing just to take your first sip. Anyway, would prefer no lid, and drop the price a bit. I really wish the tabs on the side expanded. You are limited on the cup size you can use. I have collapsible camp cups. The tabs don't fit those. I could still use the device, but I held it by the tab and poured the hot water through.

Great Coffee Filter
I think this filter is great, I get no grinds in my coffee the screen is perfect with no large gaps. It's more for thinner cups but it works with regular ones as well I just let it sit in the cup instead of on the edges.

Best coffee filter you will ever buy
The first MSR coffee filter I received as a gift 20 years ago. I still use it every day for coffee. boil water, throw in coffee, stir and let sit for 5 minutes, pour through filter - best and easiest coffee anywhere. same process with tea - boil water, throw in loose tea, let steep, pour through filter. I travel with it, camp with it, backpack with it, definitely the best coffee filter available. I have also used it to filter bacon fat, ham fat, lard jelly juice, cider with mulling spice. Super durable and dishwasher safe. I have gifted anyone I know one of these, and have 4 myself. highly recommended

Great for Camping but…
Plastic & steel mesh reusable coffee or tea filter. It’s the perfect size to fit into any reusable coffee mugs. Didn’t have any issues with coffee grounds leaking out. One caveat is that it takes a bit to lean & dry when you’re camping. Better suited for car camping, than backpacking.

Didn't Include the Lid
The packaging was open and there was no lid.

This makes brewing up on the hills, a bit ...
This makes brewing up on the hills, a bit more civilised. No more cheap tea bags or pre-mixed coffee sachets. For a proper cup of tea or coffee whilst out and about, use this with the titan mug, and you can't go far wrong.
