Used part
I recently purchased an 82 Corvette. I'm doing a tune up and wanted to do it right, so I bought a Delphi control module. It showed up in a little opened bag and the module had fingerprints on it. Also, the heat sink compound is missing. I cant believe that I got this used part after I ordered a new part. I sold auto parts back in the 80's. If you bought an electronic item, you owned it. Now a days, you can take a crap in the box and return it. UPDATE. So I finally had it and decided to do a really nice tune up on my new (to me) 82 Corvette. After going out in the shop while sick with the flu I replaced the coil (Delco), the ignition module, (Delphi), spark plugs, (Delco) and a set of ceramic boot custom length plug wires. After suffering all day I got it done and when I turned the key, the car wouldn't start. I pulled the brand new Delphi ignition module and put in the old one and the car started. Not only did Amazon sell me a dead ignition module but they sent me 3 R45TS spark plugs and 5 R45 spark plugs which the latter can be used because they are not taper seat, hence the "TS" in the part number. Not only was the module dead, it didn't come with the heat sink compound which caused me to have to drive to 3 different stores to try and find some, which they didn't. I also had to go to Autozone and buy 5 R45TS plugs so I could complete my tune up. In my opinion, this was a disaster. I will never buy any electronics from Amazon again. You can't sell electronics that have been returned. It causes the customers that get that junk to get spun and go off on another diagnostic trail when its the "new part" they just replaced that's the problem.
