It will grow again
I asked the sellers if I can pot the bulb after it flowers. They told me no the bulb will be spent. I didn’t believe them. Nature will find a way. Before the flower was totally dried up. I peeled away the wax carefully. A put the pot in a self watering pot with medium that was mostly peat moss, Pearlite and tiny bit of top soil. The following year it had huge leaves but no flowers. I still fertilized it in the fall and cut back the leaves to about an inch. Then in the winter I didn’t winterize it. I treated it like all of my other flowers. I watered it once every week very, very sparingly literally like 3 tablespoon. As long as the bulb is firm to the touch you’re good. It sat in a west facing window. Not in direct sunlight. Then this year it grew almost 3 ft and had MASSIVE flowers each measured 7 inches across with each flower on one stem. The stem was huge and rigid. You’ll need to brace the stem just for extra support. Once it started to shoot up I gave it about 1/4 cup or less of water every 2-3 days. Touch the soil. Make sure well drained. I took the pot out of the self watering at this point and just allow the water to drain out so it does rot the bulb. See the pic. It dwarfed all of my other plants!!! This is the first time I bloomed after the wax removal. Being in the bulb and wax with no watering the bulb utilizes all of its reserves and it will take 1-2 years for it to recover. Note: some parts of my house went down to 55 degrees F. So some cold is good for the bulb so it can become somewhat in a semi dormant state. Reason why I didn’t do it fully dormant is the bulb was still being watered. Anyway. It’s well worth the wait for 2 years. From the time you see the red colors to fully opened is about a week or more. These blooms last quite a bit. Maybe up to 2-4 weeks. Mines going on 2 weeks. The 4th flower just fully bloomed yesterday. They have velvety petals. So rich in color. Picasso red is very beautiful. Good luck!

Annual Gift
I have sent this for the last two years to my 95 yr old father. He enjoys it so much and sends me pictures frequently to show me the growth.

Finally bloomed
I bought two of these about a week before Christmas. The first one bloomed the later part of February. The second one waited until April to bloom. Each had 4 blooms each. Wish the blooms lasted longer.
