The Time Timer Original 12 inch is the ideal 60-minute visual timer for all abilities, including kids and adults with autism or ADHD. This large timer for kids and professionals has easy-to-read, large numbers, a protective lens, and included dry erase activity card. If desired, write or draw the task on the included Dry Erase Activity Card and place card on top slot. Turn the center knob to move the red disk counter-clockwise to the duration of your choice (up to 60 minutes). The timer is now set, and the quiet countdown has begun. No ticking means no distractions! As time expires, the red disk disappears moving in a clockwise direction - providing an understanding of time left with just a quick glance. For the ultimate in flexibility, the Time Timer Original 12 inch can be used on magnetic whiteboards and numerous other metallic surfaces. It can also stand on a flat surface with its two foldable feet or be hung on the wall. An optional alert (on/off) on the back of the timer controls the sound at the end of the timing cycle.

**Q: what size batteries does it take and how many?**
A: *Uses one "AA" battery (not included)

**Q: does it have a start/stop function (i.e., pause)**
A: This is a great visual for children - you set the amount of time they have for play, they can watch the red space decrease, and know the time is up.  There is no pause or any other mechanism - can't really use it as a timer when you need to know testing or racing time - not that kind of timer.

**Q: Does it come with a stand?**
A: No stand with the one I bought. It hangs on the wall but it is wide enough to stand alone on a flat surface.

**Q: Does it work in the dark**
A: Hello Laurie,
