Mitsumata Tissue is completely handmade out of 100% Japanese Mitsumata fiber. Mitsumata takes at least twice as long as kozo (mulberry) to grow to a suitable size for harvest making each sheet that much more precious. This lovely sheet is a great value and provides a semi-absorbent surface which works well for ink drawing and chine-colle. The almost pinkish natural tone of the paper is warm and inviting. Amazing and beautiful
This paper is very lovely, more sheer than it looks from the picture and stronger than you might think for its delicacy. It's also smoother than it seems in the picture but definitely looks handmade. I bought it to use with my wedding invites, thinking to use it as the overlay but instead I'm using Unryu Paper- Natural with Gold Flecks 25x37 Inch Sheet because it's much fancier looking. I'm not sure what I will do with this paper as it seems almost too precious to use!
