Eastern WindChinese Japanese hand folding fan,foldable rave fan

I bought this little fan to replace a cheap, but very dear folding fan that I bought for roughly £3 in Japan. It was very similarly made.To live up to my standards, this fan had to fit certain criteria. I needed one that would a) add a bit of flair as an accessory (it had to look pretty), b) cool me down in hot weather, and c) be accessible/easy to open and close.This fan fits two of those criteria. It's quite beautiful to look at and comes with a very nice black pouch with a silky quality to it (I have other fans that fit into this pouch, so I can mix and match them as I please!). Its best quality is that it's very effective for cooling off, if you are too warm - I have a disability, and testing it yesterday while out on a walk, I found that it was tremendously helpful for when I would overheat, or if I felt faint.When it comes to opening and closing the fan, it is a little too stiff to be able to "whip" it open, or close it with one hand (maybe not the best if you want to use it for dancing/cosplay/performance/looking cool and sexy when you whip open your neat little fan). But I think this is just a result of being manufactured to be quite sturdy at its base, so I don't see it as a downside. The pieces are screwed together quite tightly (perhaps it will loosen a little, with use) which makes me feel confident that it will not fall apart. But it does require two hands to open, and takes some fiddling to close it and put it away.My only real problem with the fan is that while the base is strong, the boning that holds the fabric is quite flimsy and weak, so you must be gentle while closing it to ensure you do not break a piece.It gets the job done if you want to cool down, and makes for a beautiful little accessory.A few pounds overpriced in my opinion, but overall, a very nice fan.

Well made and just as you would expect for a hand fan. Does the job.

I bought it for my wife who thinks it's brilliant, does exactly what it's designed to.

I was given a fan as a gift from a Japanese student and after years of use it finally wore out. This is the perfect replacement. Very good quality and beautiful to hold. Also has a sweet little carry bag and delightful tassle. Very happy with it.

Excellent wee tool, from the finish of fine right up and a very strong handle to hold them when in use.Did my job, making small pearl holes bigger.
