Good value smart doorbell
Does what it was bought to do quite well. Slightly fiddly to install, you will probably need an electrician to assist you. Supporting app is really impressive as an interface, packed with features but will require a subscription. Definitely worth getting a chime in addition to the doorbell unit itself if you don't have an existing one. Some lag on the calls from the doorbell, however this is to be expected.

Great video doorbell
Works really well. If anything it might be a little sensitive and the app is somethings difficult to find what you want. Like to change settings etc. but really happy with it.

Arlo wired doorbell
We had the Ring Pro doorbell camera for just over three years before it stopped working, so after a lot of research decided on the Arlo wired doorbell as a replacement.First impression after very easy installation and set up, "The Arlo doorbell runs rings around the Ring doorbell", so, so, so much better.Still early days yet but although the image has a fish eye affect, it's very clear and you can easily see all the floor area where parcels are left. The response time from pressing the button to the phone ringing seems very quick, much quicker than the Ring doorbell (by the time the Ring doorbell told you someone was at the door and you answered, they had already gone). So far works well with Alexa, ask the Echo Show to show the front doorbell and the response time is quiet good. Announcements on all the Alexa speakers is very quick, no need for a chime. Also connected with SmartThings and IFTTT, so will try setting up something later. So for now, very impressed.

Without subscription important features are disabled
Product works well with the free subscription but when that runs out after 3 months it's awful. I bought the hub so I wouldn't need the subscription but arlo disable the activity zones which I was using to stop alerts everytime someone walks past the house on the pavement 3m away. Why do that ? even with sensitivity at min. we get alerts every time someone walks past the house. When I could set activity zones I reduced the area to our front yard so we didn't get constant alerts but without subscription you can't do that. It's driving us mad, going to junk it and get one that will work well without a subscription. Arlo make it so it only works well with a subscription but no warning about that when you buy it. Avoid unless your happy to pay every month for the subscription.

rubbish, avoid.
Confusing installation guided by a rigid strictly scripted illustrated procedures. Yet, if any problems the guide sends to dense instructions, but the manufacturer did not bother to provide a schematic for the installation, in particular for the wired dongle. Notably, 24V transformer is needed with additonal housing. 24V wired door bells are not available in the UK, so this option is pretty much a dead end. For WiFI, the performance is unacceptable also. Device has a terrible lag after the visitors ring. it seems to wait some 10 seconds before ringing on the app, so I never managed to get a call while anyone was still there. The device stopped working and needed reboot couple of times, without notification. Annoyingly there is nothing apparent wrong until one logs onto the app to check. After the free subscription expired, the device again is stated to be offline/ switched off, even though it is powered on and when button pressed appears to the visitors as ringing. I do not recall a warning that free subscription expires and after it expired I find no trace of prior security shots. Conclusions after some 3 months of use: Useless gimmick rubbish not fit for the stated purpose. I can't be bothered to make it work any longer. Sunk cost - I plan to throw away and get a replacement from a competitor.

For anyone wondering how to wire it up without chime in uk and problems
Downsides - Detects motion outside activity zone and sends alerts to your phone unnecessarily. Device goes offline randomly then comes back on again (signal is full) sensor sensitivity control doesn’t seem to do much. When zoomed in too much picture blurs. Didn’t think this would happen to such a high res camera! However the pic at your door is amazing. App crashes sometimes when you answer call on bell. Phone doesn’t always go off straight away so you need the plug in chime as well or your caller might be left waiting too long and leave! Maybe firmware updates will resolve this in the future.I had to do loads of reading up on how to connect it all seeing as it’s designed for Americans their voltages and common setups. In the uk they send you a 24 volt transformer to power the bell as our doorbells (if you do even have a wired chime) are only 8-12v and won’t power the Arlo. I didn’t want to include a wired chime so attached is a pic on how I managed to use their supplied transformer straight to button. The box (with din rail to secure transformer) was £3.50 plus a couple of compression glands from screw fix. The power kit they send you won’t be needed if you don’t have a wired chime so ignore that. You will need an Arlo base for this to function.

Bought this as a 2nd Arlo for back door
I have arlo on front door and it's brilliant so bought one for back door and easy to install. Only issue is the box and advert claim it comes with a 90 day free trial to subscription which it doesn't, there's no code in box at all. Contacted arlo and they said contact amazon so be careful before buying. Subscription is cheap and little but nonetheless if it says 90 days free you should get 90 days free.
