Turnigy D3548/4 1100KV Brushless Outrunner Motor

Axial SCX10 and RC4WD Trailfinder "BEWARE" of broken parts. LolI use these motors for other than their design purpose. After loosening the grub-screws I use a "press" or a "bench-vise" to push the shaft to the other correct side of the can for rc truck use and put a 32 pitch 5mm pinion on there. I use these Outrunners as crawler motors in my scale crawlers. These OutRunner motors make about 4 to 6 times the torque of a comparable size brushed motor. Trust me....if you get a tire wedged in a hole or crack...you'll find out real soon where your weak-link is in your drivetrain. The Turnigy OutRunner motor has 14-magnets and 12-stators....that's four times the amount of magnets and stators that a regular crawl-style brushed motor has. I now have my daughter, oldest son, and four friends that run Turnigy outrunner motors...and they won't go back to regular brushed motors.Yes.....the drag-brake works great. If you have an Axial SCX10...... gear down to a 9-tooth if your running a single speed transmission and run the 13/43 ring & pinion. If you have a 2-speed like in a Trailfinder 2....you can run pretty much any pinion gear you want up to a 15-tooth.Have fun SNAPPING parts.
