I bought this book as I expected these crosswords to be easier than the Telegraph ones. For me not the case and all clues seem to be Charades which is unfair. Crossword compilers should use a variety of clue constructions not just one. Make it difficult to answer not impossible

Im not an expert but i have done cryptic crosswords for years and found these quite hard. Struggling to get my head round the writers thinking even after getting answers. Gave up just now but will return to it.

This is total crap. The clues are nonsense. I have been learning to do cryptic crosswords but these clues don't follow any of the conventions. They are literally unsolvable and the answers are nonsense words that I do not recognise. Avoid.

I was hoping to improve my cryptic skills, but these crosswords were an utter disappointment. The clues, in too many cases, were tenuous and obscure and, along with words which were made up and unheard of, ruined any enjoyment. Even looking at the answers it was difficult to see what the logic was. After the first 6 puzzles I gave up the will to live!!!Not recommended

Impossible, though I’m fairly new to cryptic crosswords I think I was making decent progress until I got this book.

We enjoy cryptic crosswords but have found these quite challenging. They take us longer than the daily mail cryptics.

I found this enjoyable. Difficult enough to make you think but I managed the entire book and I am average intelligence

some 'Americanisms' are a bit obscure ... otherwise pretty challenging!
