Another quality Trimax product
I've got 3 Trimax locks: this one, a pin lock, and a ball lock. All 3 are great quality and have held up great over my first season of taking my SeaDoo PWC to the lake.As I said in my ball lock review, spend a few bucks and do everything you can to deter thiefs. If they want it bad enough they will get it, but why get a regular receiver pin when you can get this for a reasonable cost and have an added security element? This lock is easy to use, has been reliable, and is very low key and low profile. It's so small and stays tucked in close to my steel offroad bumper that it would be harder to get a grinder or drill in to defeat this lock in my application. Not impossible, but definitely worth the cost of this lock.I'd recommend all 3 to anyone who tows and stores a trailer. This one is perhaps the most essential to day in and day out use if you leave your hitch/ball attached to your truck most or all the time, as it prevents it from being stolen. Without this, it'd be easy for a thief to walk off with $60+ in a few seconds, and it's also something you may not realize until you back up to your trailer and realize...something's not right!

A Nice Receiver Lock, at a Fair price.
Hi All.I have used all different Brands of Receiver Locks over the past 45 years as RV'ers. This is well made and should hold up for a long time. The Rubber Dust Cap is pretty nice to have on these also, to keep the dirt and dust and water out of the lock. A good inside clean lock, is a good working lock. We sure couldn't complain about the cost of this one. I have paid a lot more for 2 inch Receiver Locks in the past, and they haven't been as good as this one is. I have alwasy replace the old fashioned Hitch Pins with the Clips with 2 inch Receiver Locks. That way no one can mess with any of your RV Hook-Ups. And you also don't have to ever worry about a pin comming out, and having your old fashioned Hitch Pin fall out. I use one Receiver Lock, to lock our Tow Bar to our Motorhome. And I use two more Reveiver Locks to lock the Tow Bar to the front Basp Plate of our Toad being Towed 4 Down. Nobody can ever mess with this set-up, and noting is ever going to come undone on its own, ever. Happy Travels

Trimax T-3BLACK Premium 5/8" Key Receiver Lock
Arrived in perfect condition, looks great and works easily. I found that by putting a (black) washer/gasket from a garden hose (or similar size) on either end of the lock shaft it ellimiates and side-to-side play in the lock and the gaskets pad both the outside of the reciever hitch and the interior ends of the lock (so there is no rattle and low likelihood of either the receiver or the lock getting scratched etc.The lock came with 2 keys. I put one in the vehicle and the other in an envelope in my vehicle file at home. The (round style ) keys are serial numbered so you could probably order another key if you wanted to.

Nice, solid hitch lock that fits my 4Runner
Before I ordered I read a lot of reviews for items like this and it made me nervous about the fit for my vehicle. If you’re combing the reviews wondering/doubting if it’ll fit your hitch and you drive a 2010 4Runner, buddy, let me reassure you- it fits! In fact, the bar is a bit long but it totally fits. Very nice quality, nice positive 1/4 turn locking mechanism, tight-fitting dust cap... So far I’m thinking I made a very good choice.

Great Looking Lock
Nice lock the all black looks good. Fits my 2015 F150 just a little longer than the receiver so i put 2 garden hose washers on it so it wouldn't be loose allowing it to rattle and slide side to side. My only concerns are the finish and the rubber lock cover not sure how well it will withstand these midwest winters and all the junk they throw on the roads guess ill find out this winter. The actually locking piece seems a little too loose so i probably wouldn't tow with it instead ill just use to lock my hitch cover. Overall good piece.

Simple and effective
Simple and effective. So far no issues. I like the cover over the lock to prevent any water or dirt getting in. Not sure how the coating will hold up over time but so far so good.

This is the one you want...
It's a locking pin, for securing your bike carrier or trailer hitch to your truck's receiver. I had to drill out the holes on the bike carrier just a tad to get it to go through. It's long enough to lock on to my Toyota 4Runner (Gen3) receiver, which many of these types of pins are too short to do. The only drawback to this design is that you have to turn the key to lock it on. I think a springloaded design where you just push it into place and it clicks into loked position (so you don't have to rummage around for the key when locking it) would be superior, but that's a minor beef. Seems sturdy, has a nice black finish. Uses a round key, so should be hard enough to pick to deter casual smash-and-grab thieves, but I'm guessing a determined criminal could get this open without much trouble.

Fits 2016 4Runner
Great lock. After being rear-ended, I needed a new hitch cover and lock for my 2016 Toyota 4Runner. After reading through the questions I was concerned this wouldn't fit - but I'm happy to report it fits perfectly. The lock feels secure, doesn't rattle, and the two keys ensure I won't be the unLOCKy driver with a permanently locked lock. (Sorry.) I'm impressed with the security of this lock - especially at such a low price. If a few Colorado winters manage to cause severe corrosion, it won't be a big deal to replace it. I'm happy with my purchase, and I like how the black color matches the hitch. I would buy another.

Great product!
I received my receiver lock and it fits perfect. This is the 2nd time I buy this lock and never disappointed. I am very happy with this lock and I have a few different locks for my trailers and both my vehicles . I recommend this lock and I buy only Trimax Locks!

Does NOT fit Toyota Tacoma 3rd gen
Seems like a solid lock! If it were a little longer (I bought wrong one) it would fit my truck and I'd be rating it 5/5. Nice quality.I used a grinder to shave off a bit to make it fit. If you want it for a 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma, I'd try a different lock.

Good theft prevention
Very capable and solid built. Doesn't rattle and made from durable materials. It protects whatever you hook onto your hitch from being stolen. Very simple to use. I use it with a WeatherTech bump step.

but can easily be sprayed with black paint to restore "new" look ...
Had chrome one before, but found shine to wear away & corrode after awhile. Black paint does come off on wear areas when using, but can easily be sprayed with black paint to restore "new" look again. Blends in nicely with rest of black hitch gear. Becomes somewhat "invisible" because of its black colour.
