Great Portable Roto Tiller Unit
Used unit in garden for first time and it did a very nice job turning the soil. Has a lot of power. Worked the soil for about 30 minutes; battery charge lasted just fine. I have used a 200# roto tiller many times. A heavy roto tiller rides its way through the garden pretty much by itself. This Earthwise unit is light, so you need to use some muscle to push or pull it and keep it on track. That was to be expected. I'm looking forward to using this all summer. Setup easily. I expect that I can disassemble in 5 minutes and put it back in its box for winter storage.

Great Tiller - Battery issue but under warranty and honored; great customer support
Great little tiller for small gardens and jobs. Size lets you get into tighter spaces and work around obstacles. It is stronger than it looks and can dig deep if you hold it steady and go back and forth. When the battery is charged it works well for what it is designed to do, and for the price it's a great deal. You'll get at least an hour, up to two, out of a battery charge depending how hard you're pushing it.I bought it in October of 2018, which makes it still under the 2-year warranty. After using it three times over a year and a half, the battery would no longer take a charge. The user manual has a customer support email and a phone number which are out of date. The email bounced, and the number is assigned to some other company now. It seems the company that makes this has been bought out by another company since I purchased it, named American Lawnmower. I had to google around to figure this out. I found the web site to enter a warranty claim.FYI the web site is americanlawnmower.com/warranty to file a claim. The support number is 800-633-1501. Had to google around to find this.Didn’t get a response after two days, so I went to the web form and filled it out again. I got a message saying there was already a claim, and to call an 800 number, so I called. Not too bad for hold time, under 10 minutes. They honored the warranty and shipped a new battery. No issues.I was expecting to do battle over the battery, since a new one is $125. But it was no problem. Pleasantly surprised! Totally recommend this product.

Two thumbs up👍👍
It is way tougher than I expected.I pondered a lot before the purchase.Since it was delivered in this month. I use this almost every day. The garden patch is almost 24x12. I did plow one more of this size. Planted birch trees. Cultivated around fruit trees and balsam furs for Christmas. And two long flower beds along the drive way. It never failed me. Battery life is enough. Just one time the battery ran out. But at that time I was already exhausted and needed a rest. ^^Headup. After first time when I used it, I felt fatigue for its vibration. But the vibration is not excessive. I have used a gas tiller one time. This one is way convenient without sacrificing power.I am a woman in early 60s. Gardening is one of my favorite hobby.

Updated Rating
An update to a previous review - Going from a Troy Build Tiller over 30 years old, which is still running! Great features for small gardening. Easy to use and store. Customer service was excellent in our previous response to my review of the quality of this product. Received immediate results that was totally unexpected resulting in the receipt of another new tiller and battery a few days after it was posted. Although the tiller does not look as strong as it performs, it's a little workhorse and it is exactly what we needed. I would recommend this product, just don't be disappointed in it's appearance! Small but Mighty!

Perfect little tool
Bought this spring of 2021. Have used in ~ 250 square foot of gardens since. Borrowed it to my brother for his garden. This thing is powerful and easy to use. So easy. Battery exchange easy. Charges fast. NO Complaints.

Impressive...
...very pleased and even amazed! Note: this is the cordless, battery powered model. Initially I was hesitant to take a chance with this tiller as it looked kinda 'toy' like, and upon opening the box, I was a bit concerned about it looking somewhat 'cheaply' made. Plus I wasn't sure a battery powered tiller could handle the job. Don't let it's looks deceive you: this little tiller is a 'beast'! It came together easily and is much more heavy duty than it's appearance... weighing over 40 lbs. The battery charged up in under two hours... and held it's charge for the job I needed it for - 6 raised garden beds. It easily chewed thru roots and weeds (yes, you do need to pull off the wound-on depris from the tines every so often) and did a remarkable job tilling and then cultivating the gardens on second go over. Also easy to control and steer; not to mention the absence of gunked up carberator and pull start, loud, smelly gas motor. Highly recommend! (Interesting: the 1-star reviews are all for the 8.5 corded models... seems I am the only review so far for the battery powered cordless model.)

Really Good Cultivator
We don't have a huge vegetable garden but reasonable size. 20 by 20 feet. This Cultivator would eat up and maintain one 4 or 5 times the size. Powerful, all you have to remember is that it cultivates on the back pull. It trots out and you pull it back. It digs holes for large shrubs with a minimum of effort. The outside tines are easy to remove so you can weed without effort if you leave 7 inches between rows. The assembly was a breeze. The adjustments to use wheels or specific features easy. We had a relatively small gas cultivator. Starting was a disaster year after year. Noise, fumes, FEH! This is instant start, never gets close to using the battery up. My wife can use it with ease. I am 82 years old and use it with ease. Highly recommended. We have increased our garden size. Also the price is right.

So glad I have this!!
This makes gardening fun again. I just grab my little tiller in the spring and work up my little garden patch and plant. I took the top sod off the garden lot before tilling. It was extra work, but so worth it.If you plant your rows far enough apart, you can remove the outer blades and till between the rows. I have also used it in my flower beds.I am a 71 year old woman and find this very easy to use and care for.I would not recommend it for tilling large sodded areas.
