good information
The Rusty Nut Bible by Chas Newport(NRTFM). A very interesting book. Some of the suggestions in it are things I already knew (am I allowed to pat myself on the back?). A lot more answer Questions I either. ones I had unanswered or, worse, never thought to ask. Good solutions all, including information on tools to solve problems that had long frustrated many a better mechanic (and there are many, trust me) than me. Well worth reading. In addition to my hard copy, there is also a digital edition for those so inclined.

Great book for the Mechanical Enthusiast of any kind.
Good book for mechanical enthusiasts. A couple of points were reversed and need to be corrected but it reminds us just like the work we do that humans don’t always have to be perfect.

It's the nuts!
A fantastic guide to everything you could ever possibly want to know about removing bolts and screws - I have used this book many times since I bought it, mostly recently to remove several rusted bolts from an old Hills Hoist during a garden renovation. Descriptions are straightforward and easy to read, with a great line of humor running through so that it doesn't get too heavy on the technical side. If you own an old house like I do, or even an old car or anything else with a bunch of old bolts or screws, I'd definitely recommend picking up this book - it's something that you'll refer to time and again, and will save you a whole lot of frustration.

Nothing New in This Book
Here in the Midwest of the USA us mechanics need to deal with heavily corroded nuts and bolts every day. The techniques in this book will only work for lightly corroded or stuck fasteners. For example, Easy-Outs are worthless here. There is nothing new in this book that’s of value to a midwesterner, unfortunately.

This should be required text for every automotive student.
If you would like to be an automotive mechanic, you must master at least two skills early on: electrical theory and dealing with fasteners. Maybe you can get away with the second if you live in the desert southwest, far from salted roads and/or oceans. Reading this book, for aspiring mechanics, is like waxing Mr. Miyagi's cars.

Step-Wise Wisdom with Pesky Rusty Nuts.
Most of the book is a systemic romp through the inventory of tools one can or ought to have at their disposal. Every page, practically, sends you back to the Rusty Nut website, leaving the impression that the book is somehow just a partial, incomplete resource. What's very good, however, is the step-wise, almost militant, process the author advises, escalating the degree of ferocity contra rusty nuts with each step. Lots of scattered tidbits of advice, history, and technical scattered throughout the book. I'm keeping it handy in my home workshop bookcase. Worthwhile purchase, but with room for editorial improvements in the next edition.

All you need to know about freeing seized nuts, bolts and screws - safely!
Having been an amateur mechanic all my adult life, I thought I knew everything there was know about freeing seized nuts & bolts. Not only was I wrong, but I seem to be lacking many of the tools that the author lists in detail and logical order. The Rusty Nut Bible is packed with numerous rescue techniques, accompanied by wit and good humour. I found a practical application within days of buying it, when a visiting friend had a puncture in the middle of nowhere and couldn't get the spare wheel out of her boot, due to a severely corroded bolt (and floor). Once I'd removed and changed the wheel - casually referring to the book in the process - she asked me to take her in the bushes, then marry her the following day. Overall, this is a very useful book, which should save much time, energy and many grazed knuckles. I'm giving it 4 stars, as it could do with some attention to the punctuation and layout.

Great book which will get you out of trouble.
Stuff rusts and that's an inescapable fact, and when it's stuff you own, but want to take apart, it will be the bane of your life for the duration.Snapping a stuck fastener is one of the most disheartening situations you're likely to have happen to you (outside of personal tragedy of course), I mean, lets be honest, you're already having a 'bad' day.Instead of going fishing, you're crawling about on something which has let you down or needs vital servicing. And during the course of that routine work, you get stuck, or rather the nut does, and now you can't get it off or any further on with the job.Chas goes through all the likely 'stuck fastener' scenarios you're likely to come across, and the many ingenious ways of overcoming the stuck fastener.Hopefully, using techniques you'll learn in this book, you'll get yourself out of trouble by removing said stuck nut, get the truck back together in time to catch the fading light and last fish of the day.Good work Chas, loved it and learned quite a bit, even though I've had my own fair share of 'stuck nuts'!

Know your own limitations.
This work is a very useful addition to the workshop. It contains many well known methods and also details of quite a few less well known techniques and tools which may be used to remove corroded nuts, bolts studs and screws (generally known as 'bugger-it bolts'). Not only is it a source of original information but it serves as a useful reminder of half-forgotten methods. The writer of this manual has a distinctive and informal style, perhaps aimed at the American readership. Overall, this work will be of considerable value both to the professional and occasional engineer. My only reservation is that those new to the tribulations of the repair bench may cause damage to the item(s) under repair. Know your own limitations and make haste slowly - and use the best tools that you can afford!
