Vor allem im maritimen Bereich. Angesichts der Rezessionen hier, möchte ich dazu gerne mal ein Statement verfassen. 1. Grundsätzlich Ein Navi ist immer ein Kompromiss! Es soll (für Outdoorzwecke) kompakt und leicht sein, zuverlässig, vielseitig, genau, robust, wasserdicht, energieeffizient und leicht bedienbar. Außerdem soll es unterschiedlichsten Bedürfnisse bedienen z.B. Wandern, Radfahren, Fahrzeug, Städtetouren, Geocaching, Angeln, Jagd, Sport usw. Das alles stellt an den Hersteller sehr hohe Ansprüche. Das sollte man sich einmal klar machen. Zudem sind wir die Usability von Smartphones gewöhnt. Dazu gibt es Folgendes zu sagen: Ein Navi ist kein Smartphone. Ferner MUSS man sich darüber absolut im Klaren sein, dass man sich mit seinem Navi zwingend auseinandersetzen muss! Wenn ich in der entscheidenden Situation erstmal rumprobieren muss, ist das schon schlecht. Ich muss mein Gerät beherrschen. Anders als ein Smartphone ist ein Navi kein Gerät für jedermann, sondern für Menschen mit besonderen Ansprüchen in Bezug auf bestimmte Situationen (Wanderer, Segler, Geocaching, Bergsteiger, Technikfreunde usw.). Das setzt also voraus, dass man sich mit seiner Ausrüstung auseinandersetzt. 2. Nutzbarkeit Es werden oft folgende Faktoren kritisiert: - Bedienung - Display - Geschwindigkeit Es wird kritisiert, die Bedienung sei nicht intuitiv und kompliziert bzw. fummelig. Wie gesagt, sollte man sich ausreichend mit dem Gerät auseinandersetzen. Die Bedienknopfanordnung ist zweckmäßig und erfüllt die Ansprüche der unterschiedlichen Funktionsseiten des Gerätes. Die Tasten sind kreisförmig um das Steuerkreuz angeordnet und unterschiedlich groß. Bei entsprechender Übung drückt man diese intuitiv und ohne Hinsehen. Das nennt man Ergonomie. Die Tasten sind nicht beleuchtet. Man "fühlt" sie problemlos in der Anordnung. Gar kein Problem mit etwas Übung! Beleuchtete Tasten würden auch mehr Strom ziehen. Ebenso liest man die Kritik, dass das Gerät keinen Touchscreen hat. Ein Touchscreen ist wesentlich empfindlicher. Außerdem kostet das ebenfalls mehr Strom. Letztendlich würde ein kleiner Touchscreen durch die Finger während der Nutzung verdeckt. Und da der Bildschirm klein ist (und sein soll wegen Kompaktheit u. Strom), würde es die Nutzung erschweren. Die Auflösung des Displays wird auch kritisiert. Ein hochauflösendes Display zieht mehr Strom, was dann auch die Laufzeit verringert. Das Display soll das Nötigste tun. Und das tut es. Man kann sich zwar die Umgebung der Karte anschauen, aber in der Regel sollte die Routenplanung daheim am Computer stattfinden. Es ist aber ohne weiteres möglich, die z.B. die Route auch auf dem Gerät zu planen. Und zwar einwandfrei. Als letztes möchte ich noch auf die "Geschwindigkeit" des Gerätes eingehen. Die Karte ruckelt? Okay, man sollte sich klarmachen, wieviel Daten so eine Karte eigentliche trägt. Das ist immens! Vor allem,wenn man noch einschlägige Zusatzkarten auf das Gerät (bzw. die SD-Kart) lädt, welche noch mehr Daten enthalten (Straßennamen, Adressen, Höhenangaben, POI usw.) Und auch da gelten wieder die beiden Grundsätze. Das Navi ist kein Handy mit Superprozessor. Und ein Superprozessor kostet halt Superstrom. Fazit hier: Das 65S läuft einwandfrei und schnell für seine Klasse! Das wird auch in den Menüs deutlich! 3. Ja was kann das 65S? Das GARMIN GPSMAP 65S ist ein großartiges und funktionales Allroundnavi. Es ist kompakt, sehr genau und zuverlässig mit einer guten Batterieeffiziens (entsprechende Akkus/Batterien vorausgesetzt). Der Funktionsumfang ist toll und die Bedienbarkeit empfinde ich persönlich als einfach und nachvollziehbar. Es macht Spaß! Die Menüführung ist überhaupt nicht kompliziert! Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut. Es ist nicht witterungsempfindlich. Stoßfest ist es definitiv(empfehle noch Gummihülle und Panzerglas). Das Gerät arbeitet sehr(!) präzise und zuverlässig, GERADE unter widrigen Bedingungen (dank Multiempfänger)! Der magnetische Kompass und das Barometer (Höhenmesser) arbeiten sehr genau. Das hinzufügen anderer Karten via SD-Karte/Bascamp Software klappt leicht und einwandfrei, wenn man sich damit etwas beschäftigt (keine Rakentenwissenschaft). Ich habe bereits das zweite Gerät im Einsatz und konnte es unter vielen Bedingungen testen. Es hat mich nie hängenlassen. Ob warm oder kalt, nass oder trocken, im Wald, im Gebirge, in der Stadt...alles top. Ja, es ist auch schonmal abgestürzt. Ja gut, passiert bei Computern. War aber sehr selten und nicht bemerkenswert häufig. Das passiert dir auch bei tausenden von Euro teuren Profigeräten z.B. auf großen Schiffen. Spätestens nach einem Neustart ist alles wieder okay mit dem 65S. Fazit: Sehr zuverlässiges, effizientes und durchdachtes Gerät mit vielen Einsatzmöglichkeiten. Ich würde es wieder kaufen!!! Tolles Ding! Man muss sich nur etwas damit beschäftigen. Der Preis ist angemessen in Bezug auf Leistung, Verarbeitung und Ausstattung.
