Hilarious, Heartwarming, Love it!!
If you are considering buying this book, I would suggest you buy two copies. (One for a gift) I am not a book reader, in fact, I have only read maybe 2 books since the Left Behind series about 15 years ago... But I have to say I didn't want to put this book down...I stayed up until 3am reading it one night and finished it the next night at 1:30am...and even then I hesitated to read the last chapter because I was a little sad for the book to end...This book is fantastic!!!!...I haven't laughed so hard in a long time...belly laughs and tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks...what a fun book...and as much as it is fun it is also heart warming...the stories just touch your heart and make you want to be a better you... I can't say enough about how much I loved this book and how much I enjoyed getting to go on the fun (sometimes crazy....okay mostly crazy) adventures in Alaska...Of Moose and Men is a great book for men, ladies and kids alike...A wonderful book to read straight through or even use during family time, reading a chapter or two everyday (though if you are like me you will read 18 chapters the first day because you don't want to put it down)All this to say...it's a great read, pick up a couple copies to share...you will be glad you did...Donna Moore

I observed Torry's life and found him to be not only funny and fun to be around
"Of Moose and Men" by Torry Martin is a book filled with stories that are told by a master story teller! It will have you laughing many times as you picture the unfolding of each story through Torry's incredible writing style and use of vocabulary. While it's written in a way that is humorous to the point of hilarious, it is also real! The stories actually happened to Torry and his friend Rob in Alaska, and each chapter's story closes with a life lesson you won't soon forget. It's unusual to find this kind of writing today, but Torry has pulled it off! I was privileged to meet Torry and Rob in Alaska where we attended the same church in Eagle River. I observed Torry's life and found him to be not only funny and fun to be around, but also growing in his knowledge of God and His Word. Torry is intensely in love with Jesus! I was able to observe first hand his flair for making stories come fully alive as on a couple of occasions he played the lead roles in both an adult Christmas production and a children's program at our church. He was indeed a joy to work with. You had stay on your toes because you never knew when he might hijack the story to add some of his own unique twists! I cannot recommend this book more highly to you! It is a must read ~ a quick and easy read that will challenge you!

Amusing book for preChristians, but also fabulous for Christians too
It is one of the top five books that I have ever read! Torry takes stories from his 'everyday' life and and pulls out spiritual lessons from them! It is not overly preachy like so many books, I would first give this book to my nonChristian friends, and then discuss it, and then use the Bible with them.It has been a great devotional book for my family with teenaged sons, they love these 'action' stories. The lessons learned are very practical, and the stories make the lessons very memorable. It is a lot like how Jesus told his message - with stories! It would also make a great Bible study book for small groups, or youth groups. At the end of each chapter - lesson, there is a topic that a leader could expand upon with personal examples or illustrations, leading to prayer for applications in their lives.Lastly the book encourages Christians to look more deeply into their everyday lives for God-finds, events where God's truth jumps out at you. It is a great example of how God 'speaks' to Christians today.

Hilarious stories and poignant moments
I don’t usually review non-fiction; I love a story. But when I stumbled upon a blog post about Of Moose and Men: Lost And Found in Alaska by Torry Martin and Doug Peterson, I knew I had to include it in my reading research for my trip to Alaska. This book featuring stories of Martin’s time in Alaska is laugh-out-loud funny, but contains deep spiritual truths as well. The subtitle definitely describes some of Martin’s misadventures, but also describes the deepening relationship with God he experienced along the way. I read a story a day as part of my quiet time. Each chapter brightened my day while providing food for thought. So if you want something a little light and a whole lot different, check out Of Moose And Men.Recommended.Audience: adults.

Bravo, Torry!
Do you love to laugh? Do you enjoy stories that take you on an adventure you can actually see while you’re reading? Do you relish those moments when God touches your heart with emotion? My answer is a resounding, “Of course I do!”If your answer is the same, then order a copy of Torry Martin’s new book, “Of Moose and Men.” Not only is it spewing-coffee-out-of-your-nose hilarious, but he finds a compelling (but subtle) way of turning that funny moment into a poignant one that surprises your heart (and tears) with the joy of the Lord. It takes powerful writing to do that. And this book has some powerful writing!I met Torry Martin at the South Carolina Christian Writer’s Conference recently. As the keynote speaker I had the privilege of hearing him on two occasions, sitting with him during a “lightning learning” session, and trading business cards with him during an impromptu chat. What he does with his writing, he does with his speaking. He can have you rolling with laughter one second and within a few well-placed sentences, there’s not a dry eye in the place. That’s talent. He’s a Christian comedian, actor, playwright, producer, author and speaker. His theme is that if God can use him to reach people for Christ, He can use anyone. Torry doesn’t see himself as “one of the beautiful people.” He’s wrong, of course. His beauty comes from the joy and sweetness that emanates from within—from His devotion to the Lord and his . . . unusual way of looking at things. You may not get to meet this man in person, but you can get to know him anyway by reading this book. I dare you to read even the first chapter without cracking up! This is a book you’ll enjoy reading. I know I did.

Great book! I read it to some children an they all loved it and it kept them well entertained
The media could not be loaded. I like that this book uses language that kids can easily understand! It kept them entertained for a while and they keep asking to read more

Give it a miss
Lacked any real story. Events were obviously embellished and spiced with inane attempt at humour. Skipped through most of it as lacked real substance.Disappointed

Absolutely a wonderful read. Sounds just like two guys roughing it
Many times this book made me laugh out loud, and tears came to my eyes. Absolutely a wonderful read. Sounds just like two guys roughing it, didn't know how, but somewhere survived by the grace of God. I read every book I can get my hands on about Alaska, but this one was out of the box, and put a different slant on life, by not doing the homesteading routine. Chevy Chase you have got competition.
