It didn't fix or work

I installed a CCTV system for my brother a couple of years or so ago (he supplied the system).Although I am not a CCTV engineer, I am an Electrician with many years experience. I found the installation of the cameras and recorder very easy. When it came to programming the different parameters of the system, I left that to my brother who, in his own right, is no numptyThe installation had been working fine until one the cameras went down. My brother, not wishing to trouble me, bought a replacement camera and fitted it himself as it was easy enough for him to reach. All was fine until a second camera failed! A second camera was bought but because of its location I was asked to mount it.Before fitting the camera I wanted to 'prove' it first, it didn't work! Further testing discovered that the cable was faulty. We ordered the four cable pack so we would have some spares for the eventuality of the other cables failing.Just before fitting the new cables, I again carried out the proving to make sure that everything would work before wasting time fitting, what could have been faulty goods.Everything worked fine, the cables and the new camera were then installed and fitted in situ as per original. Result, working CCTV system and a very happy brother. All good 👍👍👍
