Minix NEO U9-H Android TV Box 64-bit Octa-Core Android 6.1 2GB/16G Minix with NEO A3 Keyboard Remote, MINIX-NEO-U9-H-NEO-A2-Lite

Prior to purchasing the Neo U9-H I had purchased other 912 boxes. The first was running at about 80 degrees Celsius. I asked the manufacturer what is normal running temperature because my box felt quite warm. (I did not tell them the actual temperature). Reply one was: 'don't worry about the heat'. I responded with what is the normal running temperature. No reply. I returned that box and purchased another. This one got to temperatures of 98 degrees Celsius (over 200 degrees Fahrenheit). Back that went. On researching again for a new box I saw Youtube reviews for Minix and all reviewers not only praised their products but their support. I can vouch for the support because my first U9-H had trouble reconnecting to my Ethernet... sometimes I had to reboot. It wasn't long before they sent me a new U9-H BEFORE they received my return. Also check out the forums to see that Minix listens to their users. Since purchasing the U9-H there have been two upgrades. Minx truly does listen to their users.As for the box itself, I was concerned, since it was not rooted, I would not be able to use the Playstore or Aptoide to full advantage. That was unfounded as just about all apps have installed with no problems. My second big concern was there would be no notification drop down if the Android OS 6 was too modified. That too turned out to be 'not a problem'. The notification drop down is there and at least to me, very important. Now, as to the temperature: for a couple of weeks I tracked the temperature and the box ran at mostly in the mid 50's Celsius. Occasionally it would hit the low 60's but did not stay there long. Their passive cooling system does seem to make a big difference and as you know heat can shorten a product's life. Other things I really like is their power management. Not only does it have a physical on/off button on the box but it can be turned off or to sleep on the launcher (which they supply two and I have added a third) and they also include a Navigation bar on the bottom of the screen which contains an on/off icon. By the way: this navigation bar can be hidden and brought back by a upward sweep from the bottom of the screen. Great implementation of Android, none of my two older boxes does this.... and as a matter of fact one of them (OS 6.0.1) eliminated the notifications completely). If all this is not enough, according to their forum pages, Minix has already committed to upgrading the U9-H to OS Nougat 7.1.1 when it is available. That should add to a longer 'life' to the Neo U9-H. Bottom line: Minix's implementation of the Android OS certainly does not appear to constrain it's usability and has built a high quality box that runs 'cool'. This, combined with their fantastic support and constant software upgrades, in my opinion, makes this a highly desirable Android TV box. BTW: I also ran benchmarks and my results agree with the Youtube reviewers... it is quite fast. Finally, I found an additional pleasant surprise that might be of interest to some users. On Aptoide I found an app for Amazon Prime Video that actually works.

Es un equipo que cubre completamente mis expectativas. Reproduce H.265 y DTS-HD sin problemas. La calidad de imagen es buena y la velocidad tambien. Excelente como HTPC. La pena es que el mando no sea iluminado y ya sería perfecto ;-)

Minix evolution

Easy to use and lots of customization. Like any other android device you have lots of apps you can download on top of streaming apps. The remote makes it so much easier to search vs using on screen keyboard and arrows to type. I have not had any issues using the box. I have lots of apps downloaded along with my custom background and on screen layout. I would recommend this over the firestick or roku because it has more freedom and less bloatware.
