Wasn't lucky this time!
I purchased another version of this tablet 3 years ago and it was fantastic. I recently purchased this model after I had such great results from my first purchase. I was not as lucky with this unit, after several months it started resetting and shutting down. Sometimes it would not start again for several days. I sent it back to Asus and it arrived on September 9th. They have a site for checking on the process, after a week, there was no progress and the site said they had not received the unit. I called, sent tracking info to the rep and they can't find the shipment. I was told to keep checking in and let them know if there isn't any progress. My hopes at this time are not very high.Update: It's been 2 weeks now, still no resolution.

Has some irritating locks
My biggest problem with this tablet is its handling of SD cards. It has a partition on its internal drive that is labeled as an SD card, and any real SD cards are mounted in a side folder. This means that I can't move apps to the SD card, so for them I'm limited to 10GB. Also, the bootloader is locked, so I can't install CWM, even though there is absolutely no reason to lock it. Good job, ASUS.

Amazing Android 2 in 1 for a low price
I wanted a small portable to supliment my desktop. Just something that I could use to do basic browsing, RDP to my work machines and do a little development on. But I didn't want another linux or windows machine to deal with and I didn't want to spend much money on it. This fit the bill perfectly.Other thoughts: The keyboard is taking some getting used to (haven't used anything other than my Logitec wave in years). It came preloaded with 0 crapware. Maybe I won't even root it.
O**.
It's a good buy. The only drawback is the low volume ...
For the price, it's a good buy. The only drawback is the low volume with speakers on the back side of the tablet. I recommend getting the Logitech h151 stereo headset for comfort and minimal weight on head and ears. I've purchased many headsets and this one is far superior in comfort and sounds great.

It's dumb as a rock, won't/can't update, only Android 5.0
It's dumb as a rock. Doesn't accept, won't install the new version of the O/S. When I check for updates, the device reports, "Up to date." The ASUS website says, "A new version is available." I tried everything to get the new version-- no success. Also, even with a 64GB SD chip installed & 'visible' and preferences set to install APPS on SD-- it won't install updates to my VERY FEW APPS because "Out of Space." It also won't move 'moveable' APPS to the SD. The ASUS utilities seem to get in the way instead of being helpful. I am an Android novice (with 30 years of S/W development on mainframes and minis and Windows), but this thing is anything but intuitive. The price was right, the hardware seems decent, but the S/W environment stinks.UPDATE: When I recently contacted ASUS, I was informed that there are no updates, will never be updates for this device. So, I don't know if I'll ever buy another ASUS Andriod product. One does not (should not) expect to be frozen at one particular release level of a highly dynamic and evolving O/S and infrastructure. The apps do update, but the O/S is locked-into Android 5.

Would not connect to WI-FI
Very disappointed with these. I bought three of them in hopes that these would be great note pads to have at work and in the car. None of the units would connect Wi-Fi. They powered up, asked what language and stayed on the connecting to Wi-Fi page. They all allowed me skip that part but of course without being able to connect to anything else they were little more than paperweights. ASUS tech support tried to help but after an hour or more I gave up since they couldn't find the problem either. No problem with returning them.

Awesome but
It's is everything I was hoping for. Screen size is great, controls are smooth. My only issue is the battery life. I have to charge this almost every other day whether in use or not and the keyboard drains it even faster. If that wasn't an issue it would have 5 stars.UPDATE 3-24-17:I've notice a drastic drop in battery power since getting the tablet. Also my lock button doesn't really work to well any longer. I'll click the button omce and it does nothing then I press it again and the screen wakes and then relocks.UPDATE 5/29/17I made an attempt to use the usb with the keyboard dock and redownloaded the file manager app. It does not work when you try to grant permission all you get is a crashing system. My power button and screen lock issue was corrected by a full system restore.Do not buy this. It's nothing but a head ache and I find myself snapping the two halves of the tablet back together regularly.
