Great product
I’m a plumber who enjoys weekend projects, especially when it comes to making upgrade’s on my homestead. When I ran across this product, I had to try it. Installed it today with ease! I refuse to rate a product and knock off even one star due to very small issues. If the product works as advertised, then I get what I was promised w/no complaint, that simple. With that being said, when dry fitting a 1/2” pvc piece of pipe to a fitting, there is typically some resistance. With this product, I used sch 40 1/2” pvc as instructed and had no resistance at all when inserting pvc into fitting. I did use pvc glue & allowed extra time to set up. With being a plumber, I also understand that the system I’m using is a gravity rain barrel system which will have a way lower psi than a pressurized system. As far as set up/install and not leaking during initial set up, I give this a 5 star & your also supporting a family company with some good looking products that will also be ordered & reviewed in the next few weeks! Couldn’t be happier so far and I’m sure the birdies are going to enjoy it!

Cups work well — tees leak unless you use LOTS of pvc cement!
I used these cups on individual buckets for years and just decided to upgrade to a system using a single large bucket and PVC pipe to feed 4 cups in 3 different coops, that way I am filling one bucket to get water to all my chickens. It was easy to set up the pipes and cups, particularly since I used to be in construction and worked with pvc pipe for many years. Because the tee fittings did not seem like pvc to me, I used an Oatey multi purpose cement rated for PVC, ABS and CPVC. The day I set it all up there were no obvious leaks. However, the next day 3 of the four tee fittings had tiny leaks where they were joined with the pvc pipe. This is a gravity system so there is no real pressure. This is pretty annoying because there is no way to get more glue in there and you can never get them apart Once they are cemented. Now I know what I’m doing when it comes to PVC and I put plenty of cement in there And gave the joints a 1/2 twist, so there should not be any leaks. Basically, the instructions need to tell you precisely what cement to use or tell you precisely what the tees are made out of so you can select the appropriate cement. Alternatively I would say use a very large amount of cement — much more than you normally would to join two pieces of PVC pipe.

The water stays much cleaner than the traditional chicken watered.
We now only fill the water every other day with 28 chickens in the coop. Our chickens seem to really like the water cups. I think some of them like to play with it. Took us all of maybe 15 minutes to put together on a 5 gallon bucket. We are making another on for the other run we have. Best invention for chicken water ever.
