Night of the Ninth Dragon (Magic Tree House (R) Merlin Mission)

My son can’t put these books down.

If you've made it this far in the series you already know how brother-sister duo Jack and Annie time travel and go on missions. This wasn't one of their typical missions and we really enjoyed it. The siblings end up in Camelot and undergo one of the most important missions to date: saving the world of magic. Jack and Annie have always undergone missions that helped Camelot but they haven't spent very much time actually there. I loved the deeper world-building in this book. There were several "aha!" moments for me on how the magic system operates. Not that there was any confusion, it just delves deeper. I love reading these middle-grade adventures with my son and hope there is a new book coming soon...*cough, Mrs. Osborne, cough*

My daughter and I loved reading this book. One of our favorites out of the series.

My 7 year old son loves this series. He is always so excited to get his hands on a new book and with more than 50 of them it is easy to find new books. I have read some of these and they are great chapter books for those just beginning to read chapter books. Mary Pope Osborne does a great job weaving historical facts and interesting information throughout the adventures. Definitely a must read!

We love Magic Tree House books! My daughter has collected the entire series and couldn't wait to get this one when it came out. Her little brother loves when she reads them out loud and he can't wait to read well enough to immerse himself in their world as well!! It's a really fun, imaginative series geared towards kids in grades 3 - 6, but younger and older kids could easily find themselves in love with these books. I personally love the history lesson that each book teaches to the reader, without them realizing they are learning!

Mary Pope Osborne wins again. My eight-year-old son has read all of the Magic Tree House books. We like them because they are adventure series with something for everyone -- both a male and female protagonist, brother and sister, make the books enjoyable for all genders, often history and facts thrown in to teach children about the world, and of course, just plain page-turning adventure.

This is another good Magic Tree House book. I can't give it a 5 star because I compare it to our FAVORITE books, which it doesn't come close to (Harry Potter, for example.) Overall, it's a fun little book.

Which kid? One of my grandkids!

I loved reading about the adventures of Jack and Annie. It is very interesting. I enjoyed reading about how they found the 9th Dragon and then saved the King with the stones Cafelle have them.
