Solid budget SSD; fast but no mounting hardware
Why I ordered this item: My old drive in my desktop was a spinning disk and it was slowing everything down. I wanted something cheap to swap in for the OS drive.Likes:* Boot time is way zippy now. My computer used to take forever to get to the desktop and now it's basically instant.* It's super thin, like barely there. I had a mounting bracket for a thicker drive and had to improvise a bit to get it snug in the bay.* Cloning my old drive over to this one with some free software took about twenty minutes and I didn't lose any of my files.* Running crystal disk mark on it, the read speeds came back right around what they claim on the box. Reads are stupid fast for a SATA drive.* It's dead silent when it's running. No likes:* The included stuff in the box is pretty bare. No mounting screws, no adapter bracket, nothing. I had to dig through my parts bin.* The warranty length feels kind of short for a drive like this.Would I pay full price for this product: YesFinal thoughts: This is a good pick if you're upgrading an older desktop or laptop off a mechanical drive. It's not a flashy NVMe speed drive but for a SATA drive it's snappy and got my whole system moving faster. Just grab your own mounting hardware if your case needs it.

Great by - boost performance without breaking the bank!
This is actually my second purchase of one of these guys. You install it, install whatever OS you have for it and it works like a champ! You can also go and download the tools for it from the Adata website and it's even more amazing! Read and write speed are awesome, yes you can get something that goes faster but at some point you're going to have to deal with a bottle neck so for 99% of the planet this is a perfect SSD.On my older HP laptop I decided it was time to dump the 5400 RPM mechanical HDD and put this bad mamma in it and wow what a difference! BIOS/UEFI loading takes longer than Windows 10 now days. I get all of the way through startup junk in like 5 seconds. If you're looking to jump your performance for a little investment this is deffinately the way to go. The first of this SSD I dropped into my PC at home that I use for all kinds of things from work to watching videos. Having downsized from a 1TB HDD to this smaller drive I thought I was going to have a hard time but I just used my 1TB as a data store and now I have plenty of room for everything.I'm certainly a huge fan of these, especially because I'm legally blind and I have to use a screen reader for computers. Usually it took FOREVER to load SuperNova or even NVDA on my laptop but not any more. Even the resource whore screen readers I use load in no time flat. The only con I can honestly come up with is that when I go and sit at my work computer using a 7200RPM HDD it's sllllllooooooooowwwwwwww-w-w-w and annoying. It takes something near 5 minutes to load Windows and get to my startup screen, then after I login it's another 3-5 minutes for all of the startup junk. Obviously it's not this SSD's fault that other drives perform at a much slower read/write but it is really annoying LoL.

Excellent Value ADATA!!! WOW!!
Pros:- Ridiculously Fast SSD!! Rated Speeds are TRUE!!- ADATA Reliability with a 3yr Warranty- SSD Toolbox & Migration software available too- Decent build quality, doesn't feel like it would break if you sat on it.Cons:- None so far. Worked great right out of the box! Conclusion: There are a tone of inexpensive good SSD solutions these days. It's a great time to need to upgrade that old PC or Laptop. Speeds were also exactly as advertised which is great to see at a 39.99 price point. I included a screen shot of 4 different SSD benchmarking tools which all seem to confirm the SP550's rating.Crystal Disk Mark - 557.0 Read / 456.9 WriteSamsung Magician - 559 Read / 463 Write (faster than my 250GB Evo @ 405 / 423)AS SSD - 501.23 Read / 464.87 WriteATTO - 558 Read / 475 WriteOne last thing. We placed this in an HP G72 w/ Intel Pentium 2.3Ghz & 3GB DDR2 Ram originally running Windows 7 64 Bit. My client was on a tight budget so it was a choice between SSD or Ram. And considering it had years of cruft accumulated and a few viruses to boot a clean install was going to be needed anyway. So SSD it was. Boot time improved by half!! Went from 1 minute 4 seconds to just 27 seconds after the upgrade. And that's with all updates and programs reinstalled! Client loves it. We'll hunt down more ram later. But for now... going SSD was the biggest bang for the buck. Get some!!

Cheap and fast upgrade if coming from a HDD.
**Read full review for information as to why drive speed is slower than other screenshots***Bought the 120gb version. I've installed SSD's on customer PC's and laptops before (PNY, Crucial, Kingston, Sandisk) all using sata 3 connections. The casing for this SSD seems flimsy as another has stated - but the performance is rock solid. For the price of this drive and the comparison to both Kingston and Sandisk at around the same price point, you can not go wrong with this drive at any capacity. Attached is my screenshot of CrystalDiskMark 64bit.**You'll notice that it's half of that of others who have posted CDM screenshots. This is contributed by the use of a sata 2 controller which is incapable of using this drive to it's full potential.**Keep in mind that if you plan on using this in an older computer as I did, it will likely be Sata2 (3mbps) instead of Sata3 (6mbps) (2007-2008 and older) and be a tad slower - but definitely faster than any clunky spinner.Deducted 1 star for lack of included software as some other manufactures offer for ease of use. If you're looking for an "Out of the box transfer experience" be aware that the Acronis software is only available on their website and you'll have to download and make your own media if you wish to copy your current (and only) system to the new SSD. This definitely isn't a deal breaker, just inconvenient for some.Firmware updates exist through the SSD Toolbox provided on the manufactures website. These could be vital for running on newer operating systems or for all around performance on them. I'd suggest downloading this program indefinitely as it does list the health status of your drive, TRIM options and other operating system optimizations. My conclusion: This is definitely an entry level drive. If you're looking for top quality, top nands, uber support, turbo boost and for it to pour your wine, this drive is not for you. If you're looking to upgrade from a spinning disk to what most would consider 'The new standard' by all means, this drive is for you.

Wonderfully cheap and reliable SSD
Wonderfully cheap and reliable SSD, suitable for a RAID setup. Performance wise, this drive beats most others in the category: The comparable SandDisk model is stricken with quality diseases, OCZ and Toshiba models suffer from durability issues (all of these cost around $120). If we compare the ADATA to other entry models, such as the BX200 (which is $160!) we see a *downgrade* in performance and life expectancy.If you are looking for a relatively cheap way to expand your storage and can do without hardware encryption, then the SP550 is something to consider.If you intend to run your OS on this drive, I would recommend spending a bit more and buying into a higher tier SSD, such as the Samsung 850 Pro (which comes with a 10 year warranty, hardware encryption and unparalleled read/write speeds) or the Crucial MX200 (which comes with a 3 year warranty, hardware encryption and better build quality than the ADATA).-----------------------------------------------------------------------CrystalDiskMark 5.0.3 x64 (C) 2007-2015 hiyohiyoCrystal Dew World : http://crystalmark.info/-----------------------------------------------------------------------* MB/s = 1,000,000 bytes/s [SATA/600 = 600,000,000 bytes/s]* KB = 1000 bytes, KiB = 1024 bytesSequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 514.759 MB/sSequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 478.830 MB/sRandom Read 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 218.305 MB/s [ 53297.1 IOPS]Random Write 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 291.482 MB/s [ 71162.6 IOPS]Sequential Read (T= 1) : 305.683 MB/sSequential Write (T= 1) : 319.819 MB/sRandom Read 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 15.542 MB/s [ 3794.4 IOPS]Random Write 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 80.730 MB/s [ 19709.5 IOPS]Test : 1024 MiB [E: 28.6% (127.8/447.1 GiB)] (x5) [Interval=5 sec]Date : 2015/12/02 17:05:16OS : Windows 7 Professional SP1 [6.1 Build 7601] (x64)

You get what you pay for.
Ok, I'm upping my score.I got a bad read-sector on one ADATA drive I got last year. Got another one a couple months ago and it's been perfect, w/ 500MB+ read/write rates every time. Rates on other one were the same, but some benchmarks dipped under 500MB (oh no! </sarcasm>)I've now had TWO OCZ (one Radeon 7) and another Toshiba brand. One Toshiba has failed (it was DOA essentially, kept cutting off every 10-20 seconds), the other Radeon 7 OCZ before Toshiba bought them died to the point the OS wouldn't boot. And my Adata didn't fail totally, it had a sector or two fail, which happened to be holding system files, but I RMA'ed and they gave me the same drive back (I had marked the sectors bad, so after I did that and reformatted, it didn't reproduce, so I think they just gave me my old drive back (had a distinct scuff mark that was there when I sent it in which was still there), which I didn't really appreciate. If a sector fails, I want a new drive, even if it's just one or two. Fast turn-around and I think they paid the shipping - I work in IT so it's hard to keep track of everything - and I'm getting older and my memories not as good as it was ;)I also have a Samsung Evo 850 1TB. This drive is just as fast as both of them. Solid 450-500MB read/write rates. Get this before it sells out and don't believe the 3d hype, this 2d holds up, minus ~50mb/sec or so - which isn't even consistent, it sometimes benches just as fast as the Evo 850. Don't waste the extra 100 dollars, though I will say, it's the only brand, along w/ Kingston, that has never failed on me.Great drive over all.

Excellent value; Amazing performance - Cannot go wrong with this
Replaced my mechanical 7200RPM Toshiba HDD with this 480GB SSD, and I can definitely say this is one of the best upgrades to my PC I have done. Read and write speeds are much higher from what benchmarks say, and I can absolutely notice how much faster read speeds are when Windows boots and programs launch. For example, Photoshop used to take about 25 seconds to fully load, now it takes just about 6 seconds.I chose this one because I saw it was on sale on Newegg, but then I realized after tax and shipping from Newegg, it was just slightly more expensive to get it on Amazon with Prime so that I would have it in a day or two, so I got it here instead. Sure, you can go with something faster like a Samsung 850 Evo or Pro, but you simply will not find something with this level of quality at this low of a price point.Note: It does not come with a 3.5 inch adapter bracket, and does not come with a SATA cable, so make sure you have a spare SATA cable and have a 2.5 Inch mounting location in your case, or do what I did, and use mounting foam to stick it somewhere. If you do not have an open 2.5 inch mounting location, you can safely mount this somewhere in your case since this is a Solid State Drive and has no moving parts, nothing bad can possibly happen if it is mounted at a weird angle.

Disappointed. Wish I'd gone with SanDisk or Samsung...
TL;DRThis drive, no matter what enclosure it is put in, periodically draws up to 1.35A of power through the USB port. That's more power draw than 2 ½ external, physical hard drives (2.5" drives with spinning platters). This is not a drive to be used with laptops. They simply cannot support that kind of power draw and will eventually end up disconnecting this drive. Sooner or later that will lead to corrupted data.STAY AWAY!!Update: 11/3/2017I just discovered something else negative about this drive. It draws a ridiculous amount of power in spurts.I've been trying to use this as a mobile drive, thinking I can put media on at home and then get decent read-only speeds out of it for playback. But I also wanted to be able to hook it up to a hub connected to my 12" MacBook, and that's where I ran into problems.I got a nice USB-C hub (OWC), but found when I connected this ADATA and a WD 2Tb My Passport (physical hard drive) the drives would disconnect sporadically and I wouldn't be able to copy a file from one to the other. I sent the hub back to OWC on an RMA, but had the same problem with the replacement. So I put testers on both of the hard drives and the hub to see if I could figure out what was drawing too much.I figured the problem would be the My Passport, since it actually has spinning platters that need to be powered. Nope. The My Passport draws right around 500mA consistently, which is what you expect for a physical hard drive. The ADATA, on the other hand, typically draws around 310mA, but every once in a while (and especially when you first connect it) it draws up to 1.35A! That's 1, 350mA, people! Or two My Passports, and more than half the way to a third! No wonder the hub crapped out and disconnected both of the drives!I did wonder if it might be the enclosure I used with the ADATA, but when I moved it to a different enclosure that worked with another SSD I have it did the same thing.Bottom Line: Not only is this drive pretty slow on write speeds, it draws a RIDICULOUS amount of power (albeit only sporadically) from the port it is connected to. Most USB hubs (with the exception of those plugged into mains power) are simply not going to support this kind of power draw. Neither will most USB ports on a laptop, even if you are plugging directly into the port. This drive may have a 2.5" form factor, but it's power draw puts it strictly in the desktop realm.Update: 6/21/2016Honestly, I think I'd give them a zero, if I could.I went through their RMA process, and just got a replacement disk back. Formatted it for my Mac & then promptly ran BlackMagic on it. Read speeds are fairly consistent at 400+Mb/s, which is fine, but writes are a different story. The first 2 iterations were around 360 Mb/s, but then it tumbled over the next couple of iterations down to 80 Mb/s and stayed there. I finally stopped after about 20 iterations because at that point I was convinced it wouldn't get any better. It hasn't unmounted itself yet, but I've only been using it for 10 minutes. I won't be surprised if this one goes the same way as the last one. This is not what I thought I was getting into when I bought this. Guess it was on sale for a reason...At least it only cost me about 3 bucks to try the RMA process. Verdict: Fail.Update: 6/5/2016The speed problems I reported below only got worse. Eventually the drive just stopped responding, and even managed to unmount itself. I contacted ADATA's customer support, and so far haven't found them to be helpful. I'm probably going to try to do an RMA and see if they can fix this, but I'm frankly not holding out much hope. They suggested I run their "SSD Toolbox" app, but when I went to their site I found it didn't support the drive I bought! Wonderful! My suggestion: stay away from this one. I wish I'd spent just a few shekels more and gotten the SanDisk or the Samsung...Original Review:I bought the 480Gb version, and I'm not impressed. In my mind there are 2 reasons you buy a SSD: speed, and the fact that jostling the drive won't destroy it. This one fails on speed.I'm using it in an external enclosure attached to my MacBook Air. Out of curiosity I ran Blackmagic on it to see how fast it was. When I saw the results, I ran Blackmagic on everything I had to see if it was as bad as I thought. It was.Read speed is fairly consistent at about 400 Mb/s. Write speed is a different thing. My first 2 iterations in Blackmagic showed write speeds of 249 and 248 Mb/s. The 3rd showed 140 Mb/s. The next 9 runs kept the write speed in a tight bunch around 90 Mb/s.I ran 5 iterations of write/read tests on 6 other drives I have; 3 hard drives, 2 SSDs, and the internal SSD on my Mac. With the exception of the internal SSD, all 5 iterations on each drive were very tightly bunched, yielding very consistent write/read values. And the ONLY drive slower than this ADATA SSD for write speed was my 3-4 year old Western Digital 2 Tb My Passport. Both of my 3.5" hard drives beat it.Granted, the read speeds were very consistent around the 400 Mb/s mark, which is very fast (3-4 times faster than my spinning hard drives). But they were slower than my 2 Transcend SSDs (128Gb and 256Gb). And on write speeds the Transcends were 2 and 4 times as fast, respectively.I get that this is a budget SSD, but I'm thinking there are better ones to be had out there. Next time I'll stick with more of a name brand.

Preis Leistung gut.

Aspettative rispettate, buonissimo prodotto

Buona scelta x costo e prestazioni
