Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Hardcover - January 13, 1994

This book came in perfect condition. It's nice to put down the phone and read a great classic. This story is timeless,the characters are so well developed. It transports you to the old south, full of charm and intrigue.I would definitely recommend this to friends and family. They constantly wanted updates while I was reading.

I looove this book it’s so detailed and tells a wonderful story of people and places in Savannah

It is a well written, funny, history. The descriptions of the various characters are terrific. It is a wonderful read. I don't know why I didn't read it until now.

Very slow to receive..arrived 1 week later than estimated

After seeing the movie of the same name (directed by Clint Eastwood) and having visited Savannah with my daughter, I finally got around to reading the book. There was a lot of character background information in this book that was left out of the movie. While reading the book, I remembered walking through Mercer House and could picture everything clearly since I had actually been there. Our tour of Bonaventure Cemetery and the squares in Savannah also helped me visualize some scenes described in the book. I learned a lot more about Savannah's history while reading the book. I recommend it.

This book kind of draws you in with it's very unusual characters (which there are many) and the way it's written - it casts its own spell on the reader. I enjoyed reading this book and couldn't put it down. Good book to read if you'er planning a visit to the Savannah, GA area. I've been to Savannah many times and wish I'd read this book before; it might have given me a slightly different perspective. Love Savannah and all the history that's associated with it; I'm ready to go back and do some more exploring, especially in the surrounding low country. If you're open minded and enjoy surprises you'll like this book. I may read it again before my next trip to Savannah.

I read this book years ago following the murder and the very public trial with many television interviews that followed. I loved the characters, Savannah, the guardens and beautiful homes which the book described in full. Only recently, did I get to visit that wonderful town for the first time. I then purchased the book and reread it again!!!!Please read it.Just a fabulous read, a great character study, sociological study of an era, and a great historical study of that great treasure;Savannah!!!

I read the book twice, first in 2K02. It's allegedly a true story and it really does a good job of describing life in Savannah - at least life for rich (and not so rich) locals who enjoy the good life and benefit from regular sex, good bowel habits, a life free from trivial financial worries and who radiate confidence, rhythm and all-around good complexion and posture and find peace even in a chaotic and tumultuous world. Well, at least for some of the rich and famous, especially those who spend too many man-hours in the company of fawners, flatterers or manipulators to the point which they believe that the world is one of sycophantic and insincere “Yes Men” who whisper buttery blather into their ears.

Love the story. Just disappointed that the cover is not intact as per the description. Also some water damage to the edge.The description also said fest edition, which it is not.Please be honest with the description is all I ask.
