Yesterday I Had the Blues

Abstract drawings not good for sensitive kids
The content is good, but I wish it identified the feelings associated with the colors. The concept is great though. 3 stars because the art work is a little abstract and it scares my 4 year old. He does tend to be more sensitive when it comes to emotion and seeing people and drawings look upset.

Happy Blues!
Having the blues isn't as bad as one thinks. To articulate ones feelings in a colorful manner is cool.

Book talks about using colors to express emotions. I use this book to do my end of the year project with my first graders. They write their own version of the story.

I love this book
I love this book. I developed a teacher workshop using this book as a launching point for introducing sensory-based poetry writing to children. Visually, rhythmically, emotionally engaging. One of my favorites!

Colorful poetry
Students love to read this poetry book about how colors affect your mood. The rhyme and word play is fun and students enjoy to read it aloud.

Great book for young kids
Wonderfully written with vivid colors. Captures the blues and other emotions with acute details on life for a child in the city. Would def recommend it for teachers, students and parents.

Fantastic book
my son and I have been having tons of fun reading this over and over for the last 3 years. (he's 8 now) he loves it, we do a different melody every time, he sings along and keeps asking for this book again and again!
