Q: Is bio ethanol the only fuel you can use in this

I'm not sure, bio-ethanol was all I'd ever used.

Q: Can you use rubbing alcohol?

The directions for the use of this item are clear on what to use as fuel. I would not use anything other than the bioethanol they specify.

No. Order fuel when you order the table top fireplace.

Q: There seems to be conflicting information on the amount of btus this produces and the time it takes to burn. what is the btu rating and burn time?

Based on experience with this product this isn’t really much of a heat source. It does produce a sizeable flame but you would have to be practically on top of it to use it for warmth. I found I get about an hour’s worth of burn time if I fill it up to the max line.
