The American Camera Scene
If you are a collector of cameras or just plain interested in anything photographic, then this book will give you an insight into American camera history that you will be hard pushed to get anywhere else in the UK.It is not boring lists, nor is it too highbrow, but has been written in a fairly light-hearted way to describe the American camera manufacturing scene, with the emphasis on the lesser known producers. It delves into the story behind the cameras' themselves too. I think it is particularly strong on the inter war years when many manufacturers tried to break the hold that Kodak had on the American markets, and is not afraid to describe the whys and wherefores of their many failures.A good read and lots of interesting facts; I enjoyed it and will probably delve into it again and again.

Great perspective on a bygone era!
The authors do a great job of giving the reader a look into the technology and market conditions that engendered the first 35mm American cameras. Not a collectors tome, but has a lot of information on various specific cameras. Photos could be better and a couple of cameras are not mentioned, but contains sufficient material to be a textbook without reading like one. Enjoyed it immensely!

Excellent book
A great history on American 35mm cameras from various manufacturers. Well written and authoritative. Not as heavily illustrated as I would like, but makes up for it in readability.
