To my surprise they were safety pins. I find myself sung them all the time. You use them to clip all kinds of things together and the look cool. My wife uses them now for her clothing to attach tags without using the needle gun which causes more damage to the clothes inserting and removing those old style plastic wire tag thingies. At least in my case. I cause more damage by pulling them out or using my teeth to try to break the plastic T part at the end rather tan using scissors. But they still seem to do some damage to the fabric. These clips however, cause no damage to the clothing and are reusable. I use them in my shop and garage to hang small tools parts in these mini mesh bags and also as mini carabiner clips for attaching name tags to mugs when we have parties. Very easy to open and close The size is about te size of a US dime.

These are not bad for general use in attaching to most fabrics. Though there are a fair number in the lot that are defective in that they can't be opened without slightly bending the catch. Also the tips are a bit rough and I found the wire not fine enough, so I have been unable to use them as intended on my silk products.
