I purchased this particular product because for my vehicle, a GM V-8 car from 2003, these tablets are added to the coolant both by the manufacturer when the car is first assembled and by the dealer when the coolant is being changed. These tablets are listed as a requirement to prevent trouble going forward. With 150,000 miles on the vehicle at this point with these tablets being in the coolant from day one, I've had no cooling system issues.
