Works perfectly through smart app.

Was concerned about other comments saying it was complicated to connect to but was able to get this working first time round and only disconnects when I walk to the other side of the apartment. Impressed with the storage of historical data a'd the flexibility thanks to the external sensor.

Not exactly user friendly, no procedure for calibration

I am a home brewer and bought this so I can accurately track fermentation temperatures. First off this thing is really compact and light so it doesn't take up any space. The thermometer probe is also quite long so that is a plus as well. Initially I had trouble getting it to pair with my phone, but my mistake was trying to pair via the bluetooth menu. Customer support was great and they simply advised me that it connects automatically through the app, viola. It worked. The app has the ability to add multiple sensors if you desire. The app interface is very user friendly and it allows to take readings at multiple intervals (1, 2, 5, 10 minutes etc). It graphs trends quite nicely as well. The temperature and humidity logs can easily be exported as well, it will be in Microsoft Excel format. My only complaint is that if this thing is logging every couple of minutes, then you end up with ALOT of raw data in your Excel spread sheet. I know there are ways that you can use Excel to make a graph, but I have yet to figure that out. That's my only complaint. Overall is does exactly what it says it will do. Of note, there is no documentation in the manual about changing the battery, but it is very easy. You just pop off the back cover and you are good to go. This would be ideal for home brewing, hobby use, wine cellars, humidors, etc.I included some screen grabs from the phone app...

Ordered Tuesday evening and delivered Thursday afternoon. Well packaged in it's own box. Well made and easy hook up to the engbird app. App is easy to navigate Like the fact that it's a triple A battery. I use this for reptiles. The smart sensor has an external probe,plus the unit has a built in sensor. The sensor and probe are very accurate. Tested with temp gun and seperate humidity meter. My readings have been plus or minus 1 which I think is great for a such a valuable piece of equipment. I have shut my heat off to test the app. App sends an alarm to notify of minimum temp drop. You can set both minimum and maximum temp and humidity on the app. Great feature. I have also used some 3m tape to install in my cage. Do not hesitate to purchase this or any other item by inkbird. Update: The company was very responsive. The issue was permissions for their software. For reasons unclear, the android app requires location permissions. I find that very concerning for privacy reasons. Has anyone checked if it phones home? They claim that google requires it, but that is not true for other software, so I am even more skeptical.I use their controller for making a small air conditioner into a cooler for a wine cellar. Since that controller already has the probe, it would be an economical synergy to add this Bluetooth communication to the controller. Then I would need only one device, presumably cheaper than buying both devices.The device is small and lightweight. In fact, most of the weight is probably in the wire and probe. The wire is much longer than I needed, but that presents no problem. The software is sufficient, and allows export of CSV files, so you can do what you want with the data. One could imagine expanding this capability for automatic uploading to the cloud, or easy communication with home automation software. Maybe in the future. But it is nice right now to have such an inexpensive, but functioning monitor of exactly the two things I need to monitor with the wine cellar. The money saved means an additional bottle of wine! And every bit counts during the reign of the orange bufoon.

i have been using this in my cigar humidor. It has worked perfectly so far. I love the fact that it gives both the temperature and the humidity levels. Being able to check these levels at any time help ensure my cigars are kept at the optimal temperature and humidity. Have tested with other temp and humidity sensors and this one has been spot on. It looks great and uses just a single AAA battery which is very convenient. The set up could not be easier. All you have to do after putting in the battery is to download their app. The app is very user friendly and you can easily track the data using their diagrams. Highly recommend for anyone who needs to keep track of temperature and humidity.
