Caught fire!
After a few months use it went up in flames. Not sure it worked as a surge protector at all tbh, as it carried on working generating a horrible smell. It didn't cut out until the fuse and socket caught fire. Apologies for not leaving a review sooner but I'd forgotten where I'd bought it.

Very good when used carefully
This Duronic adapter will turn one plug socket into 5.This multi point adapter is well built from plastic and holds five plug sockets. So if you need more plug sockets you can plug this into one and then have five! Each of the five sockets does have its own power indicator light and on/off switch which is bright green so easier to see.But please note that the maximum load that this can take is 13Amps 3000W. It is surge protected but be mindful to not overload it with power anyway! If you plug appliances into this that add up to more than 3000W it could blow! Its being used in our house for games consoles, Bluray players, TV's, radios. I wouldn't have a washing machine and dryer going off this at the same time just to be on the safe side! Here are some Amps/Watts that the most common appliances use for reference -Amps Used and Watts Used when powered on -Laptop - <0.5 and 65 - 100Mobile phone charger - <0.5 and <12Kettle - 13 and 3000Satellite TV box - <0.5 and 30Printer - <0.5 and 50Radio - <0.5 and 40Radiator - 8.5 and 2000DVD player - <0.5 and 28Hair dryer - 10.0 and 2200Landline cordless telephone charger - <0.5 and 10Computer monitor - <0.5 and 100Desktop computer - 3.0 and 700Television 42" HD - 0.5 and 120Games console - 0.86 and <200Washing machine - 10 and 2200Toaster - 9.0 and 2000Tumble dryer - 11.0 and 2500Dishwasher - 10.0 and 2200Iron - 12.5 and 2800Microwave - 4.5w and 1000Vacuum cleaner - 9.0 and 2000Radiator (oil filled) - 13.0 and 3000If you're using larger powered items try to use different sockets for each one.Recommended if you need one of these multi points.

Put an End to Mysterious Failures.
Living on a small Island, we have our own generating station, but when lightning is around, it can prove quite damaging. Without a surge arrestor, we lost our microwave to an enormous surge in the middle of the night. My lathe's motor control pcb was taken out on another occasion. Yet again I lost a control board that was associated with fishpond pumps in the garden ... and so it goes on.Within a surge arrestor is a voltage dependent resistor that comes into operation when the voltage exceeds the peek-to-peek voltage of your mains supply, which is 340V on a 240Vac supply. When a voltage dependent resistor has in excess of about 380 volt applied across it, a barrier within breaks down and for a very few milliseconds a very large current will flow, causing the transient spike to go to earth. As soon as the voltage returns to normal, it 'heals' and becomes inert again. This ingenious device is fitted within this Duronic S125W, protecting all appliances connected to it.

Bleeping brilliant
I have other similar 5 way sockets before & they’ve been a big letdown as they wouldn’t stay in place when you had more than two sockets in use. I wish I’d bought the Duronic s125w 5 way surge protected socket before as its b****y brilliant. It stays in place even when you are using all of them which is kind of the point in buying these sockets in the first place. It hangs at just the right height below the main plug socket so you can use it. The best recommendation I can give is that I’m buying more of them.

Great solution to too many wires!
I have purchased a number of these units for various purposes. What a great solution in comparison to a standard extension cable. In addition, because each power outlet has a switch, it makes it easy to conserve electricity by turning off items you are not using all the time. The bonus is the quality of the unit, it feels well made and sturdy which gives you the confidence that it is a good product. It also seems to have all the appropriate kyte and EU standard marks you would expect to see. How I wish I had photographed the mess I had when I used an extension lead, it would have made a great advert! I used one for my computer, dual monitor cables, calculator light and phone and still had the second socket on a double outlet free for other things. The other was in my bedroom where I had a soundbar, television, Sky box, laptop and Blu-Ray player which now go directly to the wall instead of via an extension lead. Obviously, as the details say, you cannot exceed 3000w per unit, but you would be pretty daft to think it would be a good idea to use an extension for high wattage equipment. If you are considering this as a solution I highly recommend it and think it is a quality product as opposed to other things I have ordered in the past and wonder if they are safe!
