Many ideas, things, etc. can be described so well to others to create a good understanding in their head, but in no way or form of the details you give, it will never be the same to "understand" it than to have experience it in real life. This one of them! This is not a life changing thing (5 inch ball bearing) it is just cool to have.I bought it on 11/22/2020 and received it on 11/26/2020. That was fast.I bought this just because my curiosity and IMPULSIVITY was to strong to control. That is it, I wish I had good purpose for this. I'm still thinking I paid to much money for my curiosity, but, the ball bearing itself is solid and perfect as described, so the price is right.If you are debating to buy it just to please your curiosity I can tell you that it will be rewarding. It will not disappoint the anticipation of holding it on your hands, but it is just a simple large scale ball bearing. I will definitely keep it.

Who knows what this is actually made for besides being overly awesome, but it fits that bill very well. I set it on a ball stand on the corner of my desk at the office and literally not one person can walk in and resist trying to pick it up with one hand. I let them try desperately before I tell them to use two hands so they can feel how far off they were from accomplishing the one hand lift. This thing is amazingly heavy and reasonably well polished. I’m very happy with it.

I bought this because it was a cool thing to have, I have no actual need for it, but it's to cool not to own! It was packed in a box, in another box, in another box, just to make sure it didn't get damaged. It feels heavier than you think it would weigh and is one of the best no purpose things I've bought in a long time!!! It is great quality and even if you don't need it, it's fun to own!!!

I purchased the bearing as a decorative / display item along with a second, smaller 3" bearing for the same purpose. Unfortunately this one, the larger 5" bearing, has a few small scratches - like it was rubbed with sandpaper and a blemish. The 3" bearing was perfect. I'm disappointed that I didn't receive a cleaner bearing, especially given the price of this.2015.10.14 - I have learned that the finish of the bearing is pretty typical and that with a little work, they can be buffed to a more polished shine. It seems unfair to give it a three star review based on my using it as a decorative item so I have updated this review. I actually have two of them now and they both have similar finishes. To be clear, they are perfectly smooth. Only the appearance of the finish wasn't as I'd hoped.

I love this huge, heavy ball. I believe it came from another planet and contains the secrets of space and/or magical powers. I just haven't figured it out yet... or I'm simply not ready for them. It's not something traditional to get for yourself... but totally worth it. I purchased two so I can do arm curls while doing goat yoga. If you don't have a shiny, heavy metallic ball yet... GET ONE! It will change your shift your life into a new perspective. When I got mine, I found the love of my life, got married and had three kick-ass kids. I started my own business and it's thriving. The possibilities are endless guys. JUST DO IT!

A couple years ago I got the 3” bearing and the 4” bearing and some sets of smaller bearings. I love them. They are awesome for physical therapy, fidgeting, stress relief, massage. I’ve waited a long time before getting the 5” beauty … and I shouldn’t have waited. And you shouldn’t either. This is absolutely worth the price - it’s a shocking and amazing piece of industrial art! Do not hesitate!

I got two 4inch and 5inch, I have them on display across from my pinball machines. Maybe I can figure out a way to display them in the pinball machines ??? I got some thinking to do on that one….

I ordered the 4 inch version of this a while back and the finish was OK but not great. The finish on the 5 inch was much better. Not a mirror finish but pretty good for the price. The packaging was also better, with a heavy plastic bag around the ball inside three regular weight cardboard boxes. The ball weighs 18.6 pounds(8.4kg), according to my bathroom scales, so be careful when handling it. The diameter measures 127.0mm, which is exactly 5 inches. Very happy with this purchase.
