This residential deflector is accurately shown in the picture. It is clear plastic, not white as is currently described in the additional information table or in the comparison to other similar itesms. (We have sent in an incorrect info report.). The item performs as described and the magnets are strong enough to hold the deflector to the metal vent cover even with the AC system fan on full. Would be 5 stars but we feel, that despite its low relative cost to other Amazon offerred deflectors, it could be priced $1 to $1.50 lower to be a great (5 star) value. The thickness of the plastic is just enough to not flex and the magnets just strong enough -- it is somewhat easy to disloge the deflector from the vent. Despite these reservations we will purchase 2 or 3 more since we know what we will be getting and delivery is quick and our need is immediate.Update to our Review: We purchased a total of 5 deflectors, both shipments arrived quickly. There was a definite increase in the dispersion and the vertical mixing of the cooled air with the room air. While the $ savings in AC costs (electricity) were less than we expected . This is probably due to that an undersized central AC unit and/or a significant loss of shade which resulted from fence line development/large tree removal.IMPORTANT: This type of diverter MUST be removed from the vents prior to the heating season! Failure to do so will result in higher heat costs and/or poor thermal mixing. It's also prudent to change the furnace/ac filters at this time and again in the spring when the diverters are reinstalled.

Wasn’t what I thought

Updated 8/25/2021 - I realized the magnets were recessed in their slots. I pushed the magnets out of the end of the slots and the magnets then held the vent cover in place just fine. Changed from a three star to a five star.Product arrived today and within minutes I determined that there was no way the magnets will secure the deflector to the wall register. Plan on using the grooves on either side to hold the deflector onto the register. It seems I have the "standard" size screws that hold a wall register in place and Deflect-O has been good enough to build in a hole at the bottom of the screw channel so one only needs to back the register screw out a bit to fit the deflector in place. Otherwise, the plastic appears to be durable enough for the purpose. I'll agree that if your register screws are further that 16" apart, you will begin to lose structural integrity of the deflector. Three stars for the weak magnets, but otherwise the deflector will get the job done.
