## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do I plug this into the port that says “panoptic”?**
A: Yes, that is the correct spot. The Garmin networking cable use RJ45 cable ends. The Panoptics port is the only one with that style female connector. You can connect 2 units together to cross feed your information.

**Q: what category is this cable?**
A: I don’t recall the CAT, I know you can use a normal CAT5 or CAT6 but it won’t be a waterproof connection.

**Q: Will this work between the GLS10 black box and sv93 unit?**
A: I don't think so. There's 3 ports on the GLS10. #1 is power, #2 is the Panoptics port, #3 is the networking port. The networking cable has a smaller screw on connector to the GLS10, then adapts with another cable that has a Networking RJ45 style connector on the other end. This cable can connect to a Echomap 93sv unit, or a networking port expanding unit.

**Q: can you view the Fish finder sonar on both connected Echomap units? (I have two locations and want to have the same view on both)**
A: If they are echomap plus 7x and/or 9x units, connected with the Garmin Marine Network cable.
Mike, Garmin

It's a Garmin cable and works as such

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great
*by S***N on April 28, 2024*

It worked perfect? Had it done in 5 min, this made things alot easier to mirror my to Garmin chart plotter

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good cables, but pricey.
*by P***N on July 14, 2023*

I have Garmin stuff, 2- 93sv and 1- 94sv. So to maximize their effectiveness, and water resistant I bought these. The cables are good, the screw rings to attach them to your FF / chart plotter are good as well. Do not overdo the tightening, no reason to, since the O-ring seals out the moisture, not pressure. Overall I like them, they are way more expensive than Cat8 cables, but you don't get the screw on rings, and O-ring protection. Lastly, the Garmin units, do not have the standard snap clip attachment for networking cables, so if you go the cheaper route, expect the cables to drop out after a few bounces of waves. The units are built for Garmin's cables. I hope this helps you feel better about dropping the extra cash, but I'd recommend it.
