A Perfect Liar
I run a home web server with no monitor, and access it via VNC. When restarting, I'd have to plug it into a monitor or it would default to super low resolution and run at a snail pace. This magnificent little liar, however, has the computer convinced there a high resolution monitor attached to it, so VNC works like normal, delivering a high resolution screen at full speed. Easily worth the money.

Works great! Simulates a 28 inch UHD monitor
DTECH HDMI Dummy Plug 4K Display Emulator works well. I use one on a headless server with very old and flaky on-board video that doesn't output anything unless a monitor is attached before booting. Works great; actually has the resolutions advertised
I specifically needed a dummy plug such as this one that offers 1920x1200. The first two brands I ordered off Amazon advertised the resolution I needed, but were not actually programmed to provide that resolution. This one here is the first of 3 different brands I ordered from Amazon that actually has the 1920x1200 I needed.10/10 A+++ product. Thanks!

Works with Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 with suitable micro to hdmi adapter.
I'm using it with Nomachine to get a fully working remote desktop for free apart for hardware cost.If you do this with the most recent Nomachine remember to turn of Wayland on the RPi (nothing to do with this adapter, just how the software works).
