I find that more than adequate to reach the center of most any cut of meat I cook. **Q: I want to brew green teas (160-200F water typically). Can anyone verify how quickly and accurately it works in this range? Thanks!** A: these thermometers will typically work up to about 400 F, so if you want to check the temperature of cooking oil for frying, you can do that. Another thermometer wasn't working and I suddenly saw that I put it on hold. Then I was always pressing the button to change farenheit to c. So I really appreciate that this has no buttons on top. This came already set to farenheit so I don't have to bother with that. The battery compartment opens easily. The display size is large enough too. I bought thermometers when I started to air fry. Usually the temp is 170 or above so this seems accurate.
