Product Description Marcato Ampia 150 Classic is the pasta maker with the distinctive design that is characterised by its simplicity and can be made with three pasta formats: lasagne (maximum width 150 mm), fettuccine (6 mm) and tagliolini (1.5 mm). The machine is made of solid chrome-plated steel, the rollers are made of food-grade anodised aluminium alloy and the combs are made of polymer resin, which ensures that there is no harmful metal dust on the pasta. The dough sheet thickness regulator has 10 positions. The hand crank fits comfortably in the hand, and the easy to attach table clamp ensures perfect stability of the machine on any surface. For even easier use, it can be equipped with the practical optional motor with patented quick coupling. Thanks to the removable combs, cleaning Ampia 150 Classic is also easier: with a brush, the pasta residue can be easily removed. The machine cannot be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. **Q: can it roll dough to 3/16" thick?**
A: It can definitely roll the dough that thin, and even thinner. It just gets harder and harder the more your trying to make it thin. Definitely have flour handy, and be prepared to catch really long dough, thin and long dough.

**Q: My cleaning lady threw away the vice clamps of my machine, can I buy a separate one?**

**Q: Why is it stainless steel?**
A: At a guess, I'd say the pasta maker is stainless steel for the strength, weight, and durability of that material.  Stainless, of course doesn't rust, which is an important characteristic of any kitchen tool.  Steel can withstand the considerable force involved in cranking out stiff dough. They could have used, say, cast aluminum, but in the case of this machine, aluminum's relative light weight (usually a selling point!) would probably be a deficit; the force you need to apply to the crank could overbalance the machine or cause it to shift around annoyingly on your work surface. Plus, there's the cost; stainless steel is considerably cheaper than aluminum, or any similar-weight, rust-proof metal. Hope that helps.

Uso la Marcato Ampia 150 da oltre un anno e posso dire che è stato un acquisto davvero azzeccato. La macchina è robusta, precisa e costruita in acciaio cromato di alta qualità: non si è minimamente arrugginita, nemmeno con un utilizzo regolare. La uso soprattutto per lasagne, tagliolini e fettuccine e il risultato è sempre perfetto: sfoglia liscia, taglio netto, spessore uniforme. Basta prenderci la mano e la pasta fresca diventa una routine semplice e gratificante. La regolazione dello spessore è fluida, e si sente la solidità dell’ingranaggio ogni volta che si gira la manovella. Anche l’estetica è curata: un bel pezzo anche da tenere esposto in cucina. Costa più di altre, sì, ma vale ogni euro per la qualità dei materiali e la soddisfazione che dà ogni volta che la si usa. Se volete fare pasta fresca in casa e cercate un attrezzo affidabile, questa è la scelta giusta. Made in Italy come si deve.
