This product cannot be used in Canada. I was not told this when I bought it in November for Christmas for my deaf Mother-in-Law. It works off the internet which was another thing we were not told. So we made an appointment for someone to come out to set it up. So I had to miss work, pay for internet connection only to find out that it can't be used in Canada. I have sent at least 7 messages to the company and Amazon. To date I have not gotten a reply on how to return it. Every answer says they are looking into it. It's April now and still no reply on how to send it back. If you live in Canada DON'T BUY IT!!! D. Stewart

This phone works way better than I actually expected. I got it for my 88 yo mom, who has profound hearing loss. Speaking on the phone is a struggle for her. This phone almost entirely solves this problem. I see a few negative reviews and don't understand why. It took me 5 minutes to set it up. It worked flawlessly right out of the box. Touch screen makes adding contacts and speed dials a snap. I overrode some general settings, like maintaining the volume at a constant level. The caveat for her is she has 1gb FiOS. I used Ethernet vs wireless for max performance. Guess what. It indeed does transcribe is real time. At $75 this phone is a steal. Frankly, it would be worth it at $175. Kudos to Hamilton for producing such a truly elegant solution for the hard of hearing.

This phone should not be advertised on Amazon Canada site as it cannot be used in Canada at all. I also had to pay to ship it back as it did not work here. Not impressed at all
