The Only Pectin I will use for Blackberry Jelly, from here on out!
Been using this to make Blackberry Jelly, and it is great. My jelly sets beautifully, and it is very easy to use. I've been using the recipe found the Ball's Preserving book - 4 cups of berry juice, 2 - 3 oz packets of Liquid Pectin, and 7 1/2 cups of sugar! I also had a half teaspoon of butter to keep the foaming down while cooking. Best Blackberry Jelly I've made to date! I've picked over 18 gallons of blackberries this year, and cleaned out the local Wal-Mart of their Ball Liquid Pectin, so I'm going bulk! LOL! I tried powdered pectin (Sure Jell), but I didn't get a good set with it; jelly was runny. I tried following the recipe for the Sure Jell to the letter, but for some reason the jelly didn't want to set very good at all. Since I've switched to the Ball Liquid Pectin, problem solved! Even making double and triple batch jelly, due to the amount of berries I am processing, no problem with setting! I think the liquid pectin gives a more even mixture, which makes the set better.NOTE: While the Ball Liquid Pectin is awesome, this offering, based on what I received is criminally over-priced! Wal-Mart sell a 2 - 3 oz packet, box of this product for $2.97. Based on the description I got here, I thought I was buying 10-3oz packets = 5 boxes, which would make the $12.00 price a good buy, but when I ordered 2 of these packages, all I received was 2 - 2 - 3oz packets. They charged me $15+ for shipping what they said would be 12 lbs. but actually was 1 lb padded envelope. This offering is criminal~!

Would recommend.
This arrived promptly, faster than i had anticipated actually and it worked well with my jam making project. If i had any complaints it would be the excessive packaging it came in (a box about nine times too big!). I guess to some this would be a bonus, it was exceptionally well packed, after all it's not the Holy Grail or anything, but for me the environment matters and I found it a bit much! The product itself though is worth the purchase.

Product great, price stinks
First and foremost, the product is great. I followed my canning directions and my recipe directions, and my hot pepper jelly came out fantastic. However.....new to canning, I found out last minute that I needed pectin. My local Walmart didn't have any, so I resorted to finding it online via Amazon. $12.10 for 1 box (2 pkts inside). I made my jelly and wanted to make more, so headed to Walmart for more jars. On the shelf was the EXACT SAME PECTIN FOR $2.98 a box (of 2 pkts). How on earth can Amazon sell a 6 oz. box of pectin for 5+ times the amount of a local store?? Sad, very sad.
