SKYLINKKN-1 Universal Wireless Garage Door Opener Keyless Entry Transmitter Keypad System

Unable to find replacement remote controls and wanting an outside keypad for an older garage door motor that still worked great, this product saved the day for us and then also for our neighbor. What a great find! Installed quick and easy on existing wire in garage, worked with no fuss and also can purchase matching remote control buttons. Huge savings to not need to replace entire opener system because remote controls were no longer available for it. Highly recommend this cost effective problem solver!

Wish I had stumbled on this sooner. This was used on a 1990 Craftsman 1/2 HP door opener with 9, 3 position DIP switches. The number and type of DIP switch is irrelevant as this keypad does not send a wireless signal to the opener but sends a wireless signal to the "Smart Button" receiver that replaces the "doorbell" switch mounted inside the garage. Easy to program and easy to change the default keypad code to the code I wanted. Because this simply activates the door via the direct wire connection already inside the garage, no changes were needed for any of the other remotes that activate the door. Note, the wiring from my opener to the "doorbell" switch had DC current already on it (to power the light in the doorbell switch), so this was able to power the "Smart Button" receiver. If you don't have DC going to your current "doorbell" switch, you'll need a 12VDC plug-in adapter. BTW, the green button on the "Smart Button" is just a switch to manually activate the opener. The "Learn" button is a tiny button on the right side that is used only for the initial programming to sync the keypad to the receiver. The instructions were straight forward was well written. If you have an older opener with a direct wire switch for manually opening the door from inside the garage, this is the solution for you.

I had a Sky Link that eventually had keypad problems. I replaced it with a new model. My opener is a Lift Master, and this model worked perfectly. It was easy to replace everything and the instructions for programming the Key Pad with the Smart Button was easy and worked perfectly.My old Sky Link survived 15 Chicago winters, so replacing it was not a big deal. Basically, a very good product, easy to install, and works perfectly!

This did not work with my older garage door motor unit. I called Skylink customer service and they trouble shot the issue with me over the phone and I came to find out that it was not going to work with my garage opener. The customer service tech was able to recommend an alternate Skylink model that would be compatible. I would rate the customer service as FIVE 5 Star but the description that stated it was "universal" dropped my rating down to THREE 3 Stars.Amazon was nice enough to take it back for credit.

Easy to install and works like a charm.

Does not work on all push buttons. Would not work on older Overhead Door opener. Thought it was a bad unit, ordered replacement. The replacement did same thing. When hooked up parallel with button, caused opener to flash light bulb and not work at all. Tried both with and without transformer. As this items is meant to be a momentary relay it should work. But it appears it maintains a constant closed circuit through the receiver. This will cause issue with a majority of openers. Tried contacting company customer support to see if there was a way to make it maintain as open circuit, temporarily closing when operating, and they were even less than helpful. They have little knowledge on the item and its operation. Lastly, this time returning, there is no Kohl's drop off option (very weird) and requires taking to UPS store. Never seen that before.

I like the keypad very much. It is small so it doesn't stick out and look out of place on my garage but it is well made and the door on it seems to be durable. I think it will give years of good service. I had to modify it just a little bit and install a relay but it works just fine and is so convenient. Wish I would have put one in years ago. I had purchased a product 2.5 times this price and had to return it. It was not compatible with my brand of opener.I installed my reciever right at the unit itself because it is hidden and also closer to the transmitter. I was a bit confused what I was buying the until it arrived. It makes perfect sense. Just clip/clamp a reciever onto the wire already going to your opener button and then attach a transmitter outside. Installation is easy. 10 minutes with the right tools. The product doesn't seem all that sturdy but on par with quality of product you would expect to ship with your opener itself.

Easiest to install if you have a powered manual button switch inside garage to connect receiver.A good alternative to replace older original keypad that now don't work and are hard to find a replacement that works easily.

Install is pretty simple and straight forward. HOWEVER the keypad is refusing to communicate with the receiver. So virtually useless, I basically bought a replacement button for my existing garage door opening button.I'll try replacing the battery they sent me (comes with one!) and I'm HOPING that's all it is, but that's very unlikely. The keypad lights up, and beeps, and programs fine. Just refuses to sync with the receiver. IF IT DOES end up working, I'll edit this and update.***Replaced battery. No difference. Trying a replacement from Amazon, fingers crossed.***Nope, replacement does the same thing. I've read SOMEWHERE that you should sometimes need to put a 12v power source to it, so now I'm ordering a 12v power adapter, and have to run electricity over to this darn thing. What a pain. I'll update if THAT makes it work.

This is my second and is quite possibly the only keypad that will work with my 35 year-old garage door lift. It works well when the door is open, but is problematic when the door is closed. I'm assuming that the metal in the garage door interferes with the signal. I am going to move the receiver closer to the garage door, which is not super complicated, but will take a bit of wiring.

Can't believe how easy it was to install. I read it a few times and did it first try with no problems. Really couldn't believe it. Was confused where to install battery, had to look up a video as there was no comment about a battery required anywhere in the included intructions or how to put in/replace. Code was easy to apply and boom, door opened! Will have to figure out where to install keypad now and see the longevity of the product, but for ease of installation and use... Full 5 stars for now. I'm impressed, especially at this price point!
