Dover Creative Haven Cats Coloring Book

ARTWORK: This is by far the nicest cat-themed colouring book I've come across. The art work is by Marty Noble, and she's done a fantastic job with this book. There's a good range of cat types in the pictures, and a truly wonderful selection of different settings/backgrounds. Some are closer to a 'realistic' setting (eg: suggesting a room or staircase) while others are more decorative, with elaborate scrolls, patterns, arches etc, framing the cat. All the images have some kind of border, which is a big plus point for me. All in all, a really delightful choice of cat-based pictures.BOOK: Glossy cover, perforated pages which are single-sided. The outlines are black and not too heavy, and the paper is white and the usual Creative Haven type - ie: fairly light-weight and smooth. Best for coloured pencils or pastels, but you might be OK with gel pens or water-based markers if you're careful.Personally I'd prefer to pay extra for heavier paper, but this is the standard for Creative Haven, and it's fine for a book priced under £4. There are 4 coloured page examples (including the front cover) for copy-colouring or inspiration to get you started.If you enjoy colouring and are even slightly fond of cats, I'm pretty sure you would like this book.

Ich habe mir dieses Malbuch gekauft um zu entspannen. Als Fan von Mandalas und Co kam ich beim Stöbern auf dieses Exemplar. Für mich als Katzenliebhaber ein Traum. Mandalas an sich sind schon wunderschön zu colorieren, aber die Katzenmotive waren für mich das "Tüpfelchen auf dem i " Entspannen mit den schönsten Geschöpfen der Welt. In diesem Buch gibt es im Vergleich zu anderen Katzenmalbüchern deutlich filigranere Motive und viele winzige Flächen zum Colorieren. Wenn das nicht Dein Geschmack ist, dann wähle ein anderes Buch ;-)

What a beautiful book! Wonderfully, cute illustrations, and good paper only printed on one side, but not patterned. (Only printed on one side should be the norm for all adult colouring books) Looking forward to getting into it using my prismacolor pencils. Wet media however might see some bleeding, but putting blotting paper under the page should take care of that. An honest to goodness realistic colouring book. So sick of Mandelas, either circular or some other shape.
