This balm is a medium to light thickness which emulsifies in the hand easily. It has a light hold and absorbs well into the hair. I use the matching oil about 5ish minutes before using the balm and I get great results. No beardruff and no patchy itchy spots. At night I use the balm and mix in about 3 drops of the oil as an overnight butter. Next morning my beard is soft and with just a little warm water I easily get rid of the "bed beard" before my morning coffee. The scent is the same intensity as the oil, medium strength but not overpowering. I only use the balm twice a day, after shower and before bed and my beard stays manageable all day. I do need to reapply the oil a couple more time through the day as my beard will dry out a little.(hey, it happens with white beards) I've had some beard products discolor my white hair, none of the VR products have discolored my beard in any way. I enjoy this scent but it doesn't go well with some colognes. I'm hoping VR will make clary sage into a cologne one of these days.

Easy to use and smells pretty good. It’s a mild east going sent. Leaves my beard soft with a matte finish.

Good value, only thing is it could do with stronger scent as its quite weak.but overall for the size of the tin you get a good dollop and will last awhile.
